Ok, "results" is debatable because I used dynolicious on the iphone, but garage 419 claims it's within 1hp and 1mph of actual dyno/1/4 mile readings... anyway.. kinda bummed lol
I think the reason is because I have a custom tune for a single flowmaster... NOT the true duals with no mufflers and 2.5" pipe I'm running now, SO, I think I need to dyno it to get it running better, i used to be able to spin 2nd gear easy but now it barely chirps, that's how I know there's something a little off here...
Mods:
CAI, Tune (wrong one lol), true duals custom x pipe muffler delete, 3.73 gears, FRPP trac-loc
Future:
ZEX wet 75
Nitto radials
P.S. NO WAY does a stock 4.0 run a 6.6 0-60 and a 15.0 1/4 mile has anyone done that without any mods?

well if your 60ft time is accurate its HORRIBLE and can account for most of your time loss that you expect to see.
P.S. How do you get screen shots off your iphone?

Haha, yeah I went to dragtimes.com and looked up some stock 4.0s and even the autos can get close to 2.0 (lowest I found was 2.05)... the road I was on had a lot of loose dust on it so i couldn't really chirp the launch at all... I had one run that I didn't post (like 16 seconds) because I span all through first and didn't connect till somewhere near the end of second.
However, I'm not that great at launching anyway, I really want to get some Nittos on there so it just goes without spinning, should be able to shave about half a sec of those times.
Dynolicious lets you tap the graph to save it as an image but for all the text data you can just press the home button and the power button at the same time. The screen will flash (just like screenshot on a mac) and take a pic and save it in your photos, it does this in any app

You really need to work on your launch, get some better back tires, find a better road to do your testing on, or some combination of the three. You should be able to get your 60' time close to 2.0. That'll shave tons of time off your ET.

yeah I was hitting about 2.6ish so we're talking half a sec in the 1/4... that would be nice! Any suggestions on rear tires? Something that's also decent in the rain, not just for racing...

I run Nitto 555s on my 'vette. It sees occasional rain, but not very often. I had them on the back of my WS6, too. It was my daily-driver. They did just fine in the rain on it. They're pretty grippy.

I run 555R's on my Stang and think they're just OK. Wet traction sucks I try to avoid driving the car if there's a chance of rain. Are you looking for a drag radial? I've heard good things about MT's.

Yeah, the 555s and the MTs are what I was expecting... tad out of my price range at the moment, I was thinking maybe there was something close but cheaper... wishful thinking, I'll just save up and roll race till then

I would save a little extra and go for the MT's. That's what I'm going to run this spring.

There's a difference between the 555s and the 555Rs. The regular 555s are more of a street tire. The Rs are a drag radial. I had a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street radials on a spare set of wheels for my TA. Those things GRAB. They're not for continuus street use, though. They won't last any time.

I run the regular 555's up front they do seem to be a good tire especially for the money.

I'm looking for continuous use, I will probably never take this car to the track... do the 555s' grip well? I went out to the same street today and couldn't break a 2.6 60', I would either baby it off the line or spin like mad, can't find the medium on my stock tires. The weird thing is that I ran a really low 14 with a 6.2 second 0-60 on the last tires that I had, and I guess they got discontinued so I got stuck with these pieces of crap that have NEVER grabbed. They're like drift tires, they just spin all the time, the rears always spin and the fronts have given me horrible understeer. Come to think of it, I'm gonna file them down a little more to see if there's better rubber underneath.

Hows the under steer? I smashed a rim up because of understeer with my current tires and it cost me a $300 rim (why the HELL are stock v6 rims $300!?) and some labor... would have been better off getting radials from the get go.

on average every .1 you can shave off of your 60ft time is two tenths in the quarter you can take off

The 555s are good. That's what I run on the back of my 'vette.

I just looked at the results of my runs (including a few that aren;t up on here) and that looks very consistent with my results, the difference between all of my 60' times are exactly half the difference of my 1/4 times. Stock 4.0s can hit a 60' of about 2.0 with radials or slicks, so I should be able to shave off at least one full second with radials alone (and practice of course...) that would be a 1/4 mile of 14.17 based on these posted results, that's two tenths behind that of a stock GT of the same year (car and Driver claimed a best of 13.9 for the GT)
50 Magazine also yolked a 4.0 out with pretty much these same mods + an under-drive pulley and it ran a 13.9 with sicks... I need better tires badly

The 555R's wont last but the 555's should go more than 15K. I have about 6K on my set and the 555R's still have good tread even after hitting the strip a few times, my 555's up front still look new.

I'm guessing that mine are going to last longer than that. I don't have any scientific numbers, or anything, just an educated guess. They're only on the back side, so they're not being worn nearly as bad as they could be.

Let me ask you this... how often do you "establish dominance" on the road?

an 05+ gt will run mid 13s easy, anyone that runs 14.0s or close in them is not doing it right or having traction issues.... remember there are MANY factors like alt, temp, etc that factor into what a car can do.
