...for a few days. I leave tomorrow (time unknown) for Andrews AFB, MD. Will be up in the D.C. area for 3-5 days. One of our 130s has a hole in the elevator. How it got there is beyond me. Myself, my shop chief, a sheetmetal guy, and a crew chief are taking another 130 up there for an MRT. When we get there we will decide whether to patch it or replace the elevator. Either way it is gonna be a lot of work and take a lot of time. Patching it will be $53,000 cheaper though with not as hard of work. If we have to replace the $53,000 elevator that means we have to swap everything over to the new one which will take days to do and rig. But with me going up there, I seriously doubt I will have internet access. So that means no checking up on ME for a couple days.
On a good note, this is my first Stateside TDY that I get to go on. And it being D.C. is awesome. Talk about some perdium. Also got a Navy buddy in Bethesda, MD and an AF buddy in Delaware. So despite the work it should be some good fun. I dont know how close any of you are from Andrews, but if you are close and feel like a M&G call me at 256-468-2516.
