so i had my car in the shop today getting an alignment and i figured ill let them do an oil change as well since it was there and since i needed 1. Since then when i picked up my car it seems when the car shifts into 2nd gear or i try to accelerate while already in 2nd gear that theres a noticable loss of power Anybody have any ideas ?

oil is oil as long as it's the right viscosity.(for simple NA V6)
i had Midas do a break job on my car and change the oil as well. 2 days later i noticed the filter looked the same and checked my oil. it was never changed.
make sure they didn't drain the tranny fluid instead. i've seen that done too.

If you do not change your own oil always mark the filter with a sharpie so you know it's been changed. You can also watch them do it.

i usually do my oil change myself all the time , i just found this to be easy since they were doing my alignment but next time i have somebody work on my car im definitely gonna be watching closely. the guy changed my oil but never changed the filter so i demanded my money back on the oil change, went out picked up some oil and a filter and did it myself in the driveway

and its such an easy filter to get to, I mainly hate trucks with skid plates, and VWs can be a PITA.

do you still have problems accelerating in second gear? i suppose an oil change would help but didn't think it would be something noticeable.

not at all, i took it out on a the highway and it was strong on the on ramp and down the highway with no problems, i didnt think it'd be noticable either seeing as i was only 10miles over on the oil change when they did it.

if I go past oil change on my car, and use full synthetic on the new change, the car feels smoother when at WOT.

you must have really flushed all that crap out of there good since you drained their oil and put in your own.
thats what i like about doing it myself. i can tilt the back end up and make sure i get as much of the deposits as possible. i put in a little over 5 quarts last time and it just barely hits the full mark on the dipstick. so i drained out more then the jiffy lube would.
anyways glad it worked out for you.
