I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do this next year. I was wondering a few things like where did you get the wiring harness or if the transmission needs to be changed if I got a t-5. I know the T-5 of the 94-95 5.0 have the same tranny specs as my V6, so do I just need a new bellhousing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

best thing to do: buy a donor car. You will have everything you need, including the little parts that make you go "damn, I need that" when you don't have a donor. Its all the little stuff that makes the cost add up.
I know a guy that may still have a totalled 96 gt if you are interested.

hmm, the 96 came with a 4.6L though. This is just something I'm pondering because I think I may need to rebuild my engine sometime soon and if I gotta pull the motor, I rather put in something with more power. This damn horsepower bug has bitten me bad, lol.

I'm thinking about it, but I wanna do all the research first before I make up my mind. Figure things out like down time, and parts and costs. But I'm not just gonna stick a normal 5.0 in. I plan on stroking it to a 347 and forged internals.

For some reason I have always seen on here that is easier to go with a 4.6L over a 5.0L on a 96 and up V6. You are also better off if you can go with a 99 plus V8 car for a donor car, 40 more HP to start stock.

see the reason I think it would be easier is that the 5.0 would use the same tranny, that's one less major part to buy. The k-member is the same as well. The only hard part would be the wiring. BUT, maybe the easier part of installing a 4.6 is because maybe the A/C lines don't have to changed out??? I'm not sure if that's true or not.

the 99 is returnless and his car has a return style fuel system. just another thing to replace in that case.
