Hey everyone, sorry I havent been on for a little while, I changed my u-joint finally and now the car runs awesome I didnt know it was actually that easy, but its easier with 2 people  , ill do a write up when I get a new motherboard, my current one is fried, im at school right now, haha, but anyway, just wondering, I got new spark plugs and put em in, but the car doesnt run right, for my car the gap should be about .038, right? I think their .025 right now, and I have an oil pressure sender for my gauge, can anyone show me where I would put that sender? I would greatly appreciate any help!

the oil pressure sender sticks out right above the oil filter. there is a little shaft that sticks out about an inch, then has a hemisphere kind of thing on the end of it with a wire on it. I am not sure about the spark gap, I will check though.

So if I wanted to install the oil pressure sender, what would I have to do, I cant use the stock one to show readings on my autometer gauge can I? Do I have to completely uninstall the stock one and put the aftermarket oil pressure sender in its place, im not to sure on what to do...

I'm assuming this is an electrical gauge and not a mechanical one? maybe someone with an autometer oil press. gauge will jump in b/c my oil pressure gauge just uses the stock sender, however, I looked at the two autometer senders on summit and they both appear to be stock-style. If you do have to install the autometer sender, its not hard though, it just screws into place.

i had an autometer gauge on my truck, and it came with a new sending unit when i bought it

I've got an electric Autometer gauge too and I had to get rid of the stock sender. You could probably come up with some fittings to run both if you really wanted to, but otherwise your stock gauge just won't work anymore. Of course, you may even be able to just splice the wire from the sender and run to both gauges, not sure if that would work or not. I just decided not to even worry about the stock gauge. |

Spark plug gap for a stock 5.0 is .052-.056 according to ford. According to Chiltons or Haynes, its .044. I guess just try em both and see what works best.

if you have an MSD box, you can gap down to .035 if you really wanted |

Alright, .052-.056, dang I didnt know that big of a gap on a stock 5.0, thanks though ill do that later today when I get out of school, my brother is ordering me a new motherboard today, but I can get access to here from school everyday for now haha, but ya, umm, well the deal is I got the oil press gauge for free from a friend of mine and he didnt give me any senders with them so another one of my friends gave me an oil pressure sender but it seems that its to big to screw into my stock oil pressure sender, could I just order a sender that will fit and itll make my job alot easier? I want to try the splicing into the stock wire but then again I dont, I dont know maybe I will because I dont feel like ordering a new sender if I could use this one I have now, hopefully this sender will work. Thanks for the help ill keep you guys updated!

you want a bigger gap on an NA application. FI and nitrous require a smaller gap with cooler plugs

i dont remember, but I am going to change my plugs when I go home for Thanksigiving. I will probably just use the Powerdyne recommended gap.

Alright well I got everything figured out with the gauge except, where would I ground it? Of course not the battery, would I have to splice into another wire close to it or what? The only thing im not sure about is that grounding, I dont know where to put the ground wire that comes from the gauge.

you can ground it to pretty much anything thats metal. Just make sure its clean and doesn't have paint on it or anything.
