Well yea. I just got my Heads/Cam finally and I'm already making plans for the next batch of mods. With them I got a set of blue 9mm stangwires. Haha I know, rice.
But I want to compliment these wires with an ignition system for my car. I want it to start like a brand new BMW. Just turn the key and it's on already.
Would an MSD igniton do that for me. What does the MSD improve over stock. What is this DIS-4 and stuff they are describing. So if I were in the market to get an MSD ignition system which would be compatible with my car. I have no knowledge of them whatsoever.
Also, what can I do about upgrading my coil pack. I saw somewhere about a coilpack that I think Accel makes, would that be alright? What about the MSD Blaster Coil?
Thanks for the help guys and girl.

Also, what does the install entail. I am a good mechanic, and I'm sure I could figure it out. Would I be cutting and splicing wiring or running a whole new set to my computer or what.

Even then, the stock ignition in good working order is good.

The fact is the stock coil pack design gives each cylinder a good spark to the plugs. These Ignition modules were designed to be used on cars with distributors and the manufactures modified them for new cars but are useless on cars with coil packs
Manufactures claims on modern cars are bogus
Next!!!

you can go with the wires to dress it up but dont go any further, you wont have any gains. Aftermarket wires are about as cheap as oem anyway.

i wouldnt go with a new ignition system unless you have a power adder and are seeing problems. such as, when you run more boost levels, the added pressure will blow out the spark before it ignites, thus a more powerful spark is needed to be able to bridge the gap.
a new ignition system wont make your car start any faster either. bmw's and luxury cars may start faster than were used to becaue their motors are more, how should i say it, finely tuned, and lighter, thus less rotating mass for a starter to spin. if youre having slow starts, maybe you should look into a new starter, shouldnt take more than 2 seconds to start. i know my GT takes just about 1 second to start, and thats in the morning.

It's not that it starts slow or anything. Well, I actually havent heard my car start since April...but when it did start....
You know how it goes chu chu vrrooom and that's like normal. Well mine would sometimes go chu chu chu chu vroom.
If that makes sense lol.
