Alright, i'm new to this site, and i just got a 2002 V6 mustang a few weeks ago. Well, i quickly discovered that the driver side catalytic converters became clogged after i owned the car for about a week. Well, instead of having to buy 4 new catalytic converters, cuz i couldn't get just 2, i had a shop just gut out all the converters. Now i'm worried about my O2 sensors. The car feels alright and everything, but will my O2 sensors screw up and cause a loss in power eventually?

Yeh, you should be getting a check engine light if it's messed up. Welcome btw from another 02 owner.

If there was no exhaust coming out of the left side...your engine is f'd up and only running on 3 cylinders lol.

i would get some cats back on it when i could afford it, no point in loosing power and making the car sound like crap for no reason.

no cats on a 6 causes a loss in power? I thought it was the opposite?

Gutting the cats will not cause a loss in power, especially if they keep the stock 2.25" piping

Will a 2.5" X-pipe (with cats) and exhaust make you loose power too?

Sorry to hear about the stang I am also an 02 owner. The reason there is a loss of power is because of no back pressure.

well you wont lose power, you bump it up in the rpm range. The car will feel slower (and run slow almost always) but you wont lose any hp/tq overall.
