I'm wanting to protect the front bumper and hood from paint chips, but i AM NOT putting a leather bra on my car. Has anybody used a Clear Bra sticker kit from 3M? If so, do they hold up well over time?
I searched a little bit and found that for the bumper, hood, and fender it will cost around $400. I'd like a little info before I buy something like that. Any input on the 3M Clear Bra would be greatly appreciated.

I was checking out the clear bra on my friend Tony's Porche Boxter S. It is bad ass. It is 100% clear and you have to look hard to find the seam. It is a PITA to install though. It took him 8 hrs and he still has some bubles to work out. It is made not to come off though. It is the best protection for bugs, rocks and anything else that comes slinging at your car.
I will invest in it once I have my hood repainted.

I don't have experience with it personally, but I know on another forum the guys over there swear by the stuff. I will probably get some after I repaint the car.

Here's the link for my model: http://www.stickercity.com/store/home.php?cat=752
Just go back a few steps to find the kit for your particular model.
I saw one on a dark blue Infinity G35 and it looked nice. I could just barely see the outer edges of the sticker where the wax had accumulated when they waxed the car. I'm sure that excess wax could have been easily removed and then i would have never noticed.
I'm thinking that these things would be virtually invisible on a lighter colored car.

sounds pretty good, but if you clean yoru front bumper every other day when bugs are bad then you will not have a problem. I know its a nightmare at times.... I dont have ANY bug spots and my car is 5 years old so.... it works to simply clean it, sure im on my second bumper... nearly a year but my old one was 3 years old with out any bug spots either.

you could just get a leather one and use that whenever youre going on trips, then just take it off while youre driving around the city

leather ones mess up the paint. On road trips to get to your destination they may be ok... but I still would rather stop along the way and clean than use one.
