i can already imagine some elanor wannabes putting the exact same body kit on their V6...
i'd like to see it with a couple different grill options cuz the round foglights and horizontal grill don't flow well with my eyes.
overall it's badass but i would change a couple little things if it were mine.

fucking beautiful, if i were to ever get a 05+, thats how it would look in the end.
but yeah, they need some better pics. imo i think thats how the new shelby gt500's should have looked.

I think what throws it off for me is the rear spoiler, the add on on the rear bumper, and the 1/4 window add ons, you can clearly tell those have just been slapped on top, instead of molded in. I like it to look smooth

might as well, they are all over the place. thats why the price of fastbacks has gone up so much, everyone is making eleanors. Whenever I get on to the subject of cars with someone and i tell them i have a classic mustang, they ALWAYS go "thats awesome, i want one some day so i can make an eleanor". I've even had someone at a stop light as me if my car was eleanor, i just asked if they were retarded. Its almost as bad as when I tell people about my engine swap, they always ask (in this order): Does it fit? Who's doing the work for you? Are you helping your dad do it?

95% of "mustang kids" always say "i want the gone in 60 seconds car", or "i want Elanor", its the most trendy thing you can do other than buying a mustang . Its like putting a body kit and a wing on a civic, and civic guy dreams of doing so.

pretty much.
me and one of my friends have talked about buying a fastback and making a mold from its roof and tops of the 1/4 panels and selling those pieces in a kit with a decklid and windows as a fastback conversion. I am sure if we actually had the time and money to do it, they would sell like hotcakes at 2-3k a pop.

not really, you can already buy the fiberglass body kit(side skirts, front, rear, 1/4 window scoops, other shit im missing) for i think 700 on craigslist. theres also a place up in sacramento that will do the whole fastback-eleanor conversion(bodywork and paint) for 3k.
and i must be just another mustang kid, but i believe foose making the eleanor stang for G60S was the best thing that happened to mustangs since ford decided to not make any other production cars faster than it after the 70's. i wish there was a eleanor kit for 99-04 cause id buy it, but i think the roush is a pretty close substitute. if funds allow and i can get the body kit and repaint the whole car mineral grey with black stripes in spring, im going to do it.
and i believe the 05 retro was created just so we could see a shitload of modern day eleanor gt500's, and personally i cant wait.

it doesnt, you bring them a fastback and they make you a GT500. but i just searched for them using the same words i used years ago(like, back when i had my 74 stangII) like "GT500 conversion sacramento mustang" and couldnt find them, prolly went out of business. so i guess there "used" to be a place in sac that did the conversion.

i was talking about making a coupe/vert into a fastback since the fastback cars are so desirable yet so much more expensive. They make convertible conversion for coupes, so why not FB conversions?

the whole eleanor/gt500 clone thing is highly over done...
eclipsedude: i believe your thinking of unique performance that does the shelby clones. also the 05s body is a fastback of the 65-66's not the 67-70s so if they wanted to make a shit load of "eleanor's" they would of atleast used the right body to make the 05 with. The new 05 looks more like a mustang II then a classic to me anyway. and the 99-04s dont have the right lines or styling to pull off having it look somewhat decent with a gt500 kit on it.
fast64: i think a coupe/vert to fastback conversion would be nice, but I personally would stick to coupes more then verts for the conversion since theres alot more shit you would have to most likely change to begin with.
