Can't Use Lights or Defroster or 01 Mustang goes nuts!!

Just bought a 2001 Mustang Convertible, drove from Florida to Georgia, drove just fine, next morning, it was raining, drove about 15 miles, turned the lights on and defroster and the ABS LIght came on, The tire thing light cut off, and the car went dead.The service engine soon light also came on. The car will drive as long as you do not turn on the lights and deforster. The battery finally went dead , we charged it and we took to autozone and they told us that we would have to find the wire??? Isn't there a million or so??? Anyone had this problem before??? HELP!

i dont' know what wire they're talking about... charge the battery again for a couple days at a low charge. but that sounds like a really dead battery if you're driving and it wasn't charging so you may just need another one. unless your charging system has a flaw.
have them test your alt and battery for you. some places do it for free.

Hi Again, Thanks so much for your suggestions! We found what was wrong, at first we changed the battery with one of out other cars and then we found it! It was a loose ground wire beside the passenger side headlight, he tightened it and everything is good to go! Thanks again for your input!
