My 02 auto will walk a 05 stick....but...I have a chip that makes up for the whole auto vs. 5 speed part. But yeh...if you can drive and he can't...you'll get him.

No....you could have a chip tuned, but it really won't do you any good if you're stock. The only reason it does me any good, is that is firms up my shifts and changed the shift points.

hes got like 17 crank hp on you stock for stock.......with your intake, he maybe has about 12 on you. he is also heavier than you and you both have 5-speeds, so, if you nail your shifts, you will win
good luck and get it on video

you, at best, should be at 15.5's, probably 16.0s is what i would expect due to driver error. His car definatly faster... but that doesnt count on the street.
A street race does not determine which car is faster so you have a shot. In the end the faster car usually wins... but this is by no means always true...

im thinking about getting a stage 2+ power pak from super six motorsports, any ideas if that would be good for the money, its about 2200, its ported lowe and upper intakes stage 2+ cylinder heads with a choice of a ssm cam. It sounds like a good package for the car, should i also put some roller rockers in while im at it?

you ought to uncork your exhaust before you increase your engine output. stock v6 exhaust is really restrictive. dual exhaust and rear gears will wake your car up a bit
but to answer your question, ssm does makes some nice products. but so does www.rpm-mustangs.com

I was gonna get custom exhaust made this winter with flowmaster 40s, so i am getting the exhaust taken care of, i was going to run with 2.25 but im contiplating getting 2.5 cause i would want in the future to put a procharger turbo on it, but ill probably throw on the 2.25 and when i get the turbo, get 2.5 depending on how much it costs, and im also gonna race a 2005 auto, so ill get both of them on tape for ya

you have a single cam motor (over head valve) setup. I would not tear into the motor just yet, its an expensive headache full road... that costs a lot of money...
I would do all the bolt ons and get the rear end build and go from there if you are not happy.

i would have someone do it for me, and since i would do it in the summer, i would have my other car to drive until that is done, i was just curious if it would be a good idea. Im probably not going to be doing a turbo just for reasons. I forgot to say that i was looking for a 8.8 t-lok with 3.73 gears, so i sort of have it laid out in front of me to what im gonna buy. just getting the money to do. im looking in the area of 3500 to be complettely done, maybe higher, either way ill have it. i wrote a story..... I thinking about getting some 17 x 8 or 17 x9 dont know which yet, but after all those mods, would the setup be good? another question could i also go with a custom side exhaust, would it do any harm or anything? I dont think it would matter, but please correct me if i am wrong

the problems with side exhaust are the mufflers need to be set up so that the in/out is on the same end. You can get by with a set of short magnaflow tube mufflers (just as an example others may work also) and bend the pipe over to the side. You can just buy a dual exhaust side exhaust kit from spintech and get a shop to fab up the dual exhaust link so you dont have to use that Y pipe.
www.speedconcepts.net check on there for an 8.8 but .... for 99 up the rear ends are not long enough (need wheel spacers or a 99 up rear end)

i dont kow much about exhaust, but could i have the y pipe cut off, and have straights to the mufflers and have a slight bend to it and not have it come in/out on the same side? also out of curiosity, how much hp at the crank would i have?

The stock muffler mounting location will not allow you to run side exhaust with a conventional muffler. The cheapest and easiest way to do it would be to get some inline mufflers and run it that way. The other real problem with side exhaust is ground clearance...my car is lowered around 1.5 inches and let's just say there isn't much ground clearance under there, I bottom out on speed bumps. With side exhaust, you will be running a 2 1/4 inch pipe under the rest of your car, losing that much more ground clearance. It's possible, and I've seen several ppl do it, but I'm sticking with my rear exhaust on my car.

thats cool, how much after the super six kit, but also, i havent been thinking about lowering my car, i like the height of it right now, no to hig not to low, but i could you two flowmaster 40s and weld a pipe from one side of the car to the other then weld or put hangers on there to hold the mufflers up right? Would I have any problems with back pressure also?
