Ok, I am about to fall into a pretty nice deal as long as my neighbor doesn't change his mind. He has a 1990 Notch, red, 5 speed, worked over 302 (cams, intake, heads, not sure what else), cobra R rims, and a few other nice-ities. The paint is in great shape. The body is straight. No dings, scratches, all gaps match. I don't have all of the specs on the engine, but I do know it used to run nitrous and if I remember right used to have a procharger.
Now, he has decided to sell the car. I am guessing because his wife is on his ass about it because he never drives it. Since he isn't in a hurry to sell the car, he is going to hold it for me so he can tell his wife it is sold.
So, what do y'all think is a decent price for a 1990 notch in the described condition? I am not sure on the mileage at this point, he is taking me out for a ride in it this weekend in exchange for a ride in my car so I can find out then. We haven't talked price yet, so I thought I would check with some of y'all.
so, any input?

Hmm i'd say maybe 3500-4500 but I dont think i'd give him anymore then that. Specially since its ran nitrous.

notches are far more expensive than hunchbacks. My friend paid 2 grand for a non running rusted over notch... lol

I paid $2000 for a 93 notch with a 100k miles, 4 banger, 5 speed, nice paint, and mint interior. I also paid $2000 for a 90 notch with 15k miles on the rebuilt 5.0, 5 speed, bullet proof rear, alright paint (flaking off in some areas, no paint on hood), and a torn up interior.
Since you are getting the best of both worlds, I am guessing $3500-$4500 is about right, depending on mods.

It's hard to say without the mileage and more detailed list of mods. But if the mileage is fairly low (80k or less) and the heads, cam and intake are good parts... I'd say up to around 6k is fair. Especially for a coupe, prices on them have gone up considerably. Now like I said, this is largely dependent on the mods... if the heads are GT-40 irons and the cam is a B cam is gonna be worth a lot less than a car w/ AFR 165's and a custom cam.
If the car has been heavily modded, which it sounds like, a lot of the value will depend on the quality of work done as well. Still, generally speaking a nice clean notch will run at least 4.5k around here. One was for sale recently for 5.5k and sold in a day... which sucked cause I was interested in it.

if he put camS into it something is wrong we only have 1 but 3500-4500 sounds like a fair price to me...but since he ran forced induction id rebuild it personally just to be safe. so id watch out for that could be a timebomb could be a good daily driver, ya never know.
