I went out and bought this: Fel-Pro Oil Pan Gasket OS30625R for an Automatic
When I take the oil pan off where is the end seal going to be? How hard is it to replace? Is there anything else I should be looking out for?

the oil pan seal? dude drop the oil pan by removing all the bols then clean the mating surfaces, lay down new gasket put in a bolt at each corner to keep it stable, bolt it back up. your done. might as well change the filter while your at it.

... I am replacing the rear seal in the tranny.
The oil pan doesn't have a gasket on it, it has silicone.

you may use gaskets on oil pans.
in the first post you put oild pan gasket.
do you mean the seal that goes around the tail shaft or the gasket that mates the tail shaft housing to the tranny case, im not sure if the aod has the TS housing integral or not

man thats the rar seal where the output shaft rides, does the aod have an integral tail shaft housing? if it does not, it would be easier to do if you take out the tail shaft housing

I have no idea....
but they said that I just use the silicone on the oil pan before I put it back on and that they dont sell a actual gasket for it.
How much of a problem is it to take the tail shaft housing off?

4 bolts to take off the tail shaft housing, one at each corner. but it might be integral
you can use silicon on the oil pan , i just prefer using gaskets, rtv smells so horrible.
they should sell gaskets for the pan i have bought them before.
