Name the mustang model eras

Ok, part of the garage is going to include catagorizing some of the information by eras (like when you are searching and such) so I would like to get a name for each type of era there was. I have my way of classifying mustangs, but some places are a lot more granular. Here is what I have...so if anyone has any other input for names or even breaking up the era groups a little more, this is your time to chime in. I could be wrong in some of my classifications (like SN95 and S197), but this is what I have thus far.


Era - Name

1964.5-1973 - Classic Mustangs
1974-1978 - Mustang II
1979-1986 - Four Eyed Fox
1987-1993 - Foxbody
1994-1998 - SN95
1999-2004 - S197 (New edge)
2005- - Dew98

That's what I have so far...although it seems like from site to site you get different code names and years and such. So, any input?

im pretty sure the 99-04's are dew98 Ill do some research while im on my lunch break

S197 is 2005+ and Dew98 is 99-2004

Numerous sites say 2005+ is Dew98 based, or a tweaked Dew98
Numerous sites say 2005+ is S197
Some sites have said 1999-2004 = S197
It's a pain in the ass.

So, people are saying 2005+ is S197....I guess we would say 1994-2004 would be SN95, but I would split it up to be 1994-1998 = SN95 and 1999-2004 to be New Edge....does that sound logical to everyone?

S197 are the 05+. Dew-98 and Dew-Lite were what they were going to be called when the 05s were first being designed. At the time it was going to be based on a shorted Lincoln LS chassis, but they later made some more changes, hence S197.

I've always heard 99-04 included the SN-95 category. To keep them separate, I'd just call them New Edge.

I dont believe I have ever heard mustangs reffered to in Generations. Thats for teh rice and teh gms.
