hey everybody, i've got some money to burn and wanted some suggestions about what to get. i'm definately getting slp's x-pipe to go with my catback, and was also contemplating getting bbk's 75mm TB/Plenum combo. i was just wondering if the TB combo is worth the money($300) and if it's something that i'll be able to tell a difference in after i put it on my car. let me know what you think.

I wouldn't go with the Throttle Body. What is your current mod list? Is 300 the max you want to spend?

eh why not, its just 300 bucks. itll make a little difference. some say the TB isnt worth it unless youre boosted, but hey, if youre changing the plenum, why not do the tb at the same time since youre right there, and a plenum spacer while youre at it.
if anything, get some sort of tuner(sct x-cal, diablo predator) after those bolt ons, thall allow you to take advantage of the added airflow.

I had a ported stock plenum and a Mac 70mm tbody, I could tell a difference with that, I hear 75mm is over kill, but I have seen a lot that were happy with them too.

right now the only mods that i've done are a cold air kit, slp catback, and underdrive pulleys. my x-pipe is on the way. i just didn't know if the tb/plenum combo would benefit me any

Yes sir, in my opinion it would help your performance at least to some extint, I was pleased with the alameda ported plenum and Mac 70mm tbody on my GT. Your mods are similar to what I had, I had an 03 Cobra 1RS rear end with 3.55s, a SCT superchip, and a mac catted H pipe. Aluminum drive shaft, shift kit in my automatic. Other than stuff mostly for looks, that was most of it. Oh, and a 3" Cobra FMS exhaust catback.

Just 300 bucks?
There are better places to spend that 300 bucks, for example you can get a SCT Tuner for that.

the xcal2 is 350ish now. it was still 399 when i was looking at tuners, thus why i opted for the el diablo predator at the time, it seems like it had more end user tuneability than teh xcal2.
i didnt buy the mustang to cheap out on parts though, i couldve kept the dsm for that. i knew mustang parts are more expensive, and dont usually yeild the bang for the buck i was used to.
and yeah, just 300. i have 2300 right now, and ill have a good 600 more come mid jan. you gotta remember too, i bought all the shit i have now when i had like 4k in the bank after selling the gst and selling all the mods from it, so money wasnt really an issue, and still isnt. i like to hoarde it in my bank and watch it grow before spending it on something i know i really want, like a roush kit.

I am with whisper. Get the gears. I dropped .5 tenths with the switch from 3:27's to 3:73's. 200 for gears & around $200 for install (unless you have a press.

i'm gonna hold on on the TB/Plenum combo for the time being. the next mod is either gonna be gears or a tuner. more than likely i'll go with the gears. thanks for the input everybody
