My mustang just to scratched today by some asshole. Luckily it's mostly on the fuel door and about 2 cm off the door. I'm thinking it would be cheaper to replace the fuel door with an aftermarket one such as this: http://www.mustangtuning.com/cdcbufudo9.html

That's $74.99 free ground shipping.
I'm going to get an estimate for paint job and compare the difference in price. Do any of you have another suggestion on fuel doors? It seems like the link above is the best looking one for that price. There were some cheap looking ones for around $30 on ebay. Thanks.

i bet you can beat that price on the fuel door if you look around. i myself was thinkinga bout one, but nothing really looks right on a black car with chrome rims.
check www.rdmotorsport.com , other site sponsors, and www.gefracing.com

I like mine alot. I think a black car with chrome rims would look nice with a chrome fuel door...

yeah, i was thinking bout a bullitt fuel door as well, do they just bolt into the current doors place? or do they get bolted around the inset for the fuel door? it says its really easy to install, but im not too keen on drilling holes into the side of the fender, id rather drill them into the inset that youd never see unless you open the cap.

No drilling required, just snaps in with a bracket mechanism. Just make sure you get one with a thumb indent so you can open it, mine has a spring that's already rusting and gets frozen up in the winter.

The spring will still rust though. I like the clean look with no thumb dent, but it is a pain.

Mine uses magnets to hold it shut. I like the black powdercoated look with silver screws. more subtle.

Very Easy to install. Mine took all of 5 minutes and that was with a 10 minute beer break! When the car gets re-painted next month, from Silver Ford Mustang Color Code YN to Volvo Color Code 476, the fuel door is getting painted to match.
