Z06 or GT500?

If someone came up to you and asked, "Would you rather have a new Z06 or a new GT500?" Which would you rather have? Get the Z06, sell it, and dump the money into the GT500 is not an option. Pretend it has to be your daily driver for a year (though very few of either of these will probably end up as daily drivers...). I'd take the Z06, but I'm sure at least a few of you would choose differently.
This thread over on [H]ardOCP's forums got me thinking about this one.

I'd take the GT500 if it had to be a daily driver. the back seat would be much more useful. Both cars have plenty of power but the cobra is easier to upgrade. (and you could buy a few more vehicles with the extra money, lol)

I'd have to say GT500...just because I believe they'll be rarer.

sorry but i'm gonna go with the Z06 since i know its only 1/10th a second slower than the ford GT

id say if you had the money, go for the ZO6.
isnt the GT500 the replacement for the cobra, since ford said it would drop the cobra name cause its not "nostalgic" enough for the retro stangs?

I'll have to join the GT500 band wagon. I don't like the current styling of either car but I dislike the GT500 less so it is my choice.
On a side note, the modablity of the GT500 is not going to be like the 03/04 cobras from all the reports I am reading. From what is being reported, the supercharger will face the rear of the engine bay and the pulley clearances will not allow any really change in pulley sizes without body modifications. I guess they are trying to make is harder to mod in order to cut down the warranty work they have to do. |
