Ok so i've seen some complaints from people that Mac LT's don't fit right and that there aren't any other companies out there making them right now.
I was wondering if there would be a market for custom made headers fabricated by joe somebody who happens to be a V6 mustang enthusiast.
The idea is to make headers that don't require you to hit your floor pan or do anything else to make them fit. Headers with less restriction and easier to bolt in and include gaskets that match. Also maybe have the O2 bung in a position so you don't need to lengthen wires on O2 sensors?
Would this be a good idea and what would be a fair price? Keep in mind cost for materials and welding equipment.

Hm...dunno. But to be honest, if I was really that worried about it...I'd make my own. Got a pipe bender and both tig and mig welders.

you could probably talk andy into doing long tubes. he already does turbo headers, so i don't imagine long tubes would be much of a stretch for him...

My question was to see if there were enough V6 owners out there that would want custom long tube headers that would fit better then any other brand and cost less.

Got my vote The only problem I see is being able to keep the cost down to keep in line with the current Mac price

yea, you'd probably have a market for them if you could keep the price competative

I could build them, I have thought about it, but I just don't think there is the market.
You can't just use a tube bender, you want mandrel bent tubes with no kinks in them. And preferably you want 1 piece primaries that are custom bent, then welded to a nice flange. Don't use ball joints, use slip joints, they flow better.
304SS would be the material to use.

and if you wanted to be inspection legal, you'd probably be better making short - mid length headers anyway

Probably around $350-400. And I would need to produce at least 10 sets.

That's not a bad price Especialy if they install easier then the current headers & you get a bit more ground clearance
