The other day my car died while I was drivin down the road. I was sittin at a red light lookin through some cd's and I looked up and realized traffic had started moving. So I sped up pretty quick to catch up, and as I let off and started cruisin at the speed limit the car just died. I had to swerve across traffic to get off the road before I stopped coasting. Once I got out of the way, I stopped the car and turned the key, and sure enough it started right up like a champ. So once I got close to work I tried speeding up quickly again (on a deserted road) and sure enough once I let off it died. A guy I worked with used to be a mechanic and he told me he thought it was a sticking valve. Anyone heard of this problem? My car is an 03 and has about 25k miles on it. Also, he said it was the EPV valve (I think) supposedly it has somethin to do with recirculating exhaust gases.

With 25k miles, I'd carry that thing back to ford and make them fix it. It's still under warranty.

Ya, figured that out. Have a friend with a taurus and the 3.8 and his IAC is sticking, gonna pull it off and clean it out for him.

my idle bypass valve (IAC, located no the upper intake next to the throttle body and is cylinder shaped) Its a cheap part and easy to change, when it goes out the car wont idle. This may or may not be the problem, but its a cheap place to start looking. It acts up worse when its cold outside~
