You all know my car was trashed by a 10 point buck about 4 months ago. I have been saving and buying parts for the car to replace all the damage and too move the car into it's next iteration.
It's all in my mind as far ass all the body work that is required. I'm removing all badging, and smoothing all the lines on the Mustang. I am also wanting to repaint the car to Midnight Blue.
So anyways, My boss walks in with a computer that needs all the data back and restored. Seems the wife of the owner got a virus. I was able to recover the data, and now I have to rebuild the machine, OS and all. Seems that the data is very important and I can see why. The data on the computer is mainly databases for his company. He owns Bodyshops and autopainting companies!!
Lucking me

I agree. This is a favor too. I am not going to charge them anything. So far 10 hours of work put into this. I charge 75$ an hour too.
I Love data forensics too. Doing the forensics on the drive reveals a lot about the users!!! I know their purchases, surfing habits, interests, etc!
I love doing forensics for the most part. It's like an autopsie.
Last month though was really disturbing. I was given a government computer and had to analize it. The guy was really weird. He was into voyerism to include purchaing mini cams and upskirts pics

wow, I am suprised you were allowed to touch a government computer. My dad works for the government and they are crazy about those things. His laptop has a paper glued to the lid with his signature and an agreement saying that no one else is allowed to use the computer, the computer is for work only, and its government property destroying or stealing it is a felon, blah blah blah. He has an access key (looks like a credit card) that randomly generates a number every 60 seconds. He has to have the current number to log onto his computer at any time. He also needs the number to access any non-US government websites; and if he can't prove he needed to go to those sites for work, instantly lost his job. They do, however, sell their computers after they get 3 years old, but first they take out and destroy the harddrive, memory, and anything else they think could possibly have government information on it. Like I said, they are crazy about those things.

So your Dad is using a CAC card? And yes the government is VERY crazy about those things. When something happens like:
1. Porn surfing
2. A major Virus attack
3. Key Loggers
4. Unsuspected activity
5. Weird traffic from a computer
I get involved. Doing forensics etc

but good luck with the car anyways.
