your joking right? the interior in every mustang from 64-04 rattles and shakes like crazy. I mean, they didn't change a thing other than the dash clock and the center console cup holders from 94-04. Don't buy a mustang if you are looking for a silent ride unless its an 05-06.

mine makes 1/4 of the noise than my 88/90. It is acually pretty quiet on the inside. It was the first thing I checked when I test drove it. It seems for some reason when you lower it alot it makes more noise. I have the sportlines which is like 2 14 inch drop or more, And it doesnt even come close to how loud my five oh's interior was. I dunno my roll cage did touch the side of my convertible braces so that might be it. I know the five oh's dash is a hella of alot louder though.

I'd totally get a 5.0
I was looking at super chargers on Vortech's site and found that the supercharger for the early 90's 5.0 are a helluva lot cheaper than a regular 4.6 pre 99 of course. And you see more power out of them! I was looking around for the type you are as of lately. I bet they are quite a beast if you turbo charge em.

i say go with a 5.0 also
put 3.73's in the rear, switch out that p.o.s. EEC for an A9L, headers back exhaust, cobra intake manifold, some 1.7 roller rockers, all the small bolt ons like under-drive pulleys, cold air, a nice MAF, advance the timing a little bit, and itll be a fun ride. It might not be all that fast, but itll be fun to drive

That is all I really want. A nice clean ride that is somewhat reliable (doesnt need a engine rebuild!) and is fun to drive

buy it if you want it, dont let it get away. You may have to ask for help until you sell your car but... if you let it get away you may never find another one.

you better see if either your parents will loan you the money. Or go get a signature loan and buy it. Then when you sell your car pay it off. If you found the car you want and you let it pass you wont find another one like it.

im with jimmy on the rattling noises an shit, dont buy one if your looking for a cadillac like ride...your not going to find it in anything pre 05..u say your 01 doesnt rattle..give it time, its still on the basically same platform your 88/90 is on. the best thing about the 87-93 foxbody mustangs is that they are so easily modified to do anything you want, the worst thing is the platform itself, subframes should be your first thing along with other minor suspension stuff.

at least a loan for 5k is pretty cheap payment wise. It will help your credit as well, but of course you need to be where you an pay it as well lol.

You could always get a student loan (I'm assuming your in college here). That's how I bought my car. My $3000 loan is only $35 a month. Of course, I think this over like 8 years or something crazy, but you can always pay them off early as you can afford it. I got mine from American Education Services.
Like everyone else is saying, if you find a black on black five speed in good shape like you want for only 5 grand, you need to jump on it as soon as possible. You not find another just like it that cheap for a long time.

Heres my take on it. You want a 94-98 style get a 98 with N/A 225 BHP and work from there. I have nothing against the 5.0 except many in the 94-95 range are tired and well used as well as the rest of the car. Also with just a head and intake change to the newer 99 stuff will get you a net gain of more HP than a 99+

My vote is for the 5.0....for sound, ease of modding/finding parts, reputation, and so you can be like vanilla ice and roll in your 5.0 with the girlies on standby....

Well me and Corey may have worked something out where I can get rid of my engine parts and sell my car for what I want for it.
If it goes down my car will be sold soon. After talking with him some I think I am going to try to find me a 97-98 GT Black/Black and when I get the money do the P.I. swap and go with nicer cams when I do that.
I am pretty excited right now and I hope it works out. I am ready to get into a solid car for a change and get behind some power. Looking forward to that exhaust note with a Off road x pipe and Magnaflows

sweet. we can start a black on black club.
and get spintechs dude, you wont be sorry. seriously, i hear other stangs now, and compared to mine, their exhaust just sounds boring. i talk to other people with stangs who hear my car and theyre now getting spintechs.
friday, if weather permits, ill wash the car and take some vids. then you can hear what im talking about.
