Just for the record, in Mississippi starting july 1 of 05, you must have your tint inspected every year in order to get an inspection sticker. It costs an extra 5 bucks and you get screwed on the tint. It registers different depending on where you go. I finally gave up...I had 35% tint, which is legal, and it registered as 25.

I thought in Alabama it was 35% that was legal? Man I could have gotten a whole 3% darker!

Yeah I don't think the police really care about the tint unless they already have you pulled over for something else. I think if mine starts peeling off, I'll have it redone in 20%

It just depends on what mood the cop is in. Nick got followed, pulled over, and harrassed for his. I got pulled over for mine once, cop checked it, it was close, he didn't care lol.

police in alabama dont care unless they need to meet their ticke quota or the SINGLE state trooper that cares pulls you over (I went to court 20 of us... every one with the SAME trooper as the ticket writer)
there is a speed trap (ticket trap) near where I live that you go 35mph for 5 miles with NO road work goign on, they just like to write tickets... so be careful if you are nearing killen/florence on hwy 72.

Yup, I have a pool I clean in the summer out that way, and I have yet to not see a trooper parked somewhere on that stretch going and coming.

They're bad in tuscaloosa by the mercedes plant as well. They've been "doing roadwork" for like 10 years now, and there's always 2 cops sitting there, one to clock to make you think you got past, and another there to pull you over 2 miles down the road lol.

No, right after I put the tint on, I went up to the highway patrol station and had the tint checked. It registered as 32% and they gave me a freaking sticker that says my tint is approved. Now, they decide those don't mean shit, and there's a need to have every vehicle with tint checked every year. There is no uniform way to check the tint, the freaking attorney general even commented on it, but still, nonetheless, they passed the bill. I'm gonna citizen's arrest the first congressional member with illegal tint I see and hold him at gun point waiting on the cops to come give him a ticket for illegal tint. I'll take the charges against me lol.
But, back to my tint. I went to one place, my tint registered as 30 on the back and 31 on the sides. Drove across town, my tint registered as 24 on the back and 25 on the sides. Drove across the state, my tint registered as 28 on back and 29 on the sides. It just annoys the shit out of me that there is no uniform way to check the tint. Even if you get passed by someone at the very few inspection stations left, you can still get a ticket for illegal tint if the cop feels your tint looks illegal. According to the law, a cop can look at your car, say he thinks your tint is too dark, and you are charged with a fine. It's all bs.
