The stock 99+ intakes will not fit on the 98 heads. You can do a complete head intake and fuel conversion swap or just buy a newer 4.2 and then you will only need a 99+ upper intake and fuel conversion setup. The 4.2 upper intake found in a truck will not fit under a stock hood but a 99+ mustang upper intake will fit on it.

You will need to get a fuel rail conversion because of the changes to the fuel system from 98 to 99. Basically it is welding the back end of a 94-98 fuel rail to a 99+ fuel rail. They can be had on the mustang boards. Several people make them. The other thing is a tune. you will need to either get a chip or dyno tune
