Just changed to headers on my car and did a spark plug change while I was at it and now the car is running like crap. I ran the car up the road and when I came back the number 4 header pipe is hot as hell and the rest are not nearly as hot. What could cause this? Could a bad catalytic converter cause this?

if you just swaped headers and thats it (other than a standard spark plug change) I would review the install, check for leaks and what not.
Double check the spark plugs and inspect their gap. I hope you didnt pull all the wires off and then stick them all back on... possibly in the wrong order.

Im fairly certain there are no leaks ...the reason I went to headers was because there was a noticeable leak up front and I figured the stock manifold was cracked and my gas mileage went from like 20 in the city to 17. Im also fairly certain that I didnt mix up the plug wires because I only pulled them off one at a time.

if you only pulled them off one at a time then chances are its not that, but double check to make sure. check the bolts on the headers, when they get hot and cool again they can become a bit loose.

maybe not all the cylinders are firing. compare the threads on the previous plugs to the ones you just installed and make sure they have the same thread length.
