i've had my ebay CAI in for about a year now and i figured it was about time to clean it, or at least check it, and was wondering if you would clean it the same way you would a K&N filter with the spray and water and all that. does anyone know?

You can give it a try.

Dam!!! a year!!! Your supposed to clean them every oil change I would say. Every 3,000 Miles!!!. Mines is right under 3000 miles old and I need to clean it.
Should notice some difference once you clean it, thats gunna be dirty. At least out here in AZ were all the dust is. lol K&N has a recharge kit for like $27

DO NOT SOAK YOUR WASHABLE FILTER WITH OIL when cleaning it

Most people do this, but all you need is just a touch of oil.

Depending on how dirty the filter gets I would probably just replace it every 15-30k miles.
