I agree...it is deserving of the Challenger name plate...much more so than the other two abominations that have come out in the last couple years.

Ah see, I figured they'd do the 425hp because that's what they have in their Chargers and their Magnums. I figured they would want to make the horse power stock lower.. you know, so they would actually be AFFORDABLE.

That actually looks better than the other concept shots I'd seen. I kinda like it. It's sort of like a restomod, old look with new performance and comforts. If it doesn't have the typical Chrysler tranny problems, I may consider buying one somewhere down the road. I just wonder what happened to the idea of a cheaper sports car line. Because the GTO is way too expensive, the Camaro was suposed to be the poor man's Corvette, the Challenger was along the same price range, the Charger can't really even be compared because of the complete change in use now by the addition of 2 extra doors. You're going to have to be pretty well off now to get a decent engine in anything let alone something cheap unless you go to foreign cars. There's no way automakers are going to be able to go from little Cobalts, Fusions, and whatever the Neon replacement's name is, to Giant v8's like those. They're going to have to fill the gap with something. Maybe bring back the Duster or Demon for the cheap cars?

I don't know, I think the Mopar faithful will jump all over this. Supposedly they are aiming for the same market as the Mustang, which will be tough no doubt, but if they keep the prices competative, they might move a pretty good amount. Truthfully, when time comes, (if) I (ever) graduate college and I can afford one or the other, I may lean more towards the Challenger. Will be a tough choice, no doubt, but I am, after all, a Mopar Man.

This is the only way Chrysler can make this car affordable and get a broad base market. They need to establish an entry level car as a daily driver, and have this car as the "SRT-Whatever" to compete with the Mustang/Cobra line. Although, this car alone will bring many Mopar faithful back into the fold, they'll miss this car's full market potential by releasing only a "top of the line model". Ford definitely has the right formula with the Mustang line.
