Does anybody know how much the stock seats weigh in a 99-04GT cloth. I am getting an idea how much weight I can save when I buy summit seats that weigh about 23lbs each vs. ? Plus a rear delete seat, coil overs,....etc Thanks for any input!

the driver seat weighs a lot. (yea i'm helpful) I took both front seats out when I did some carpeting and wiring for my stereo. I'm guessing like 55-60lbs for the passenger seat. If it wasn't cold out I'd go take out my seat and weigh it, but it looks like Corey is on it and will give you an accurate answer.
which Summit seats are you looking at? I like the simple $200 leather look alike seats.

I wouldn't think the passenger seat weighted 60lbs. I am thinking 45-50. and the power drivers seat is about 65lbs But who knows. I pick up my drivers seat this evening and I will weight it with a caliberated pull scale.

eh it feels like 60 lbs when you have bad back problems and you're bent over trying to pull the seat out. lol... whatever the weight is, 23lbs sounds nice no matter what.

Here is the skinny!!! I just installed the Drivers seat in my stang but before I did I used calibrated scales and the truth be told
GT seat alone.........33lbs
Power seat track.....13lbs
TOTAL...................46lbs
So there it is. Stock seats are not that bad in terms of weight

Hmmm... I'm gonna have to weigh mine now. I bet I got stuck with some extra heavy seat that they were experimenting with.

^ with the way things work out for me, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm a target for getting screwed over by people. It's a rule written somewhere that tells people they must cheat, scandal, take advantage of, or lie to me at least once a week... i'm gonna weigh my passenger seat tomorrow after school.

ive heard the cobra seats are a ton heavier... but i think they are exaggerating, someone said 90lbs... that seams overkill to me.

Here is the real deal from Ford. All seats are on the same frame. So the only difference is in the foam padding and accessories attached to them. So the actual difference is only a couple of pounds or so. The GT seat was 4 pounds heavier than the V6 seat simply because of the laterial support adjustment mechanism and the pump for the Lumbar inflator.
This brings me to talk about the rear seat delete. It is a scam. Unless you are a avid drag racer deleting your seat is in my opinion useless. In changing the rear seats in my car I realized it is nothing more than a fabric covered piece of foam, nothing more. It does not weight crap. I also like the fold down seats so I can put long objects into my stang. But to each his own.

As far as rear seat deletes go there is some weight savings involved. Our kits require that you remove the entire frame attached to the back part of the rear seats, it's there that you're losing a good majority of the weight. I think most people's misconception is that 1)only the foam parts of the rear seats are removed and 2) rear seat deletes are only for weight savings.
A lot of our customers don't race their cars but show them. A custom rear seat delete will be one of those small added attractions to most cars when done right. For instance here's one that was shipped to a customer last week. It's a 3D design so it's a little less "loud" then some other deletes we have done. It was also made of our lighter 1/4" material and weighed in just under 10lbs.

What is there to own???? I also was stating that most people have a misconception on how much their seats weight. People here though the GT seat weighed over 65 lbs which in fact it does not even come close even with the power seat equipment. I also said the amount of weight reduction for a rear seat delete was not as much as some would think. But at the same time I understand people who frequent the dragh strip but I would also include show cars. But it is my opinion that A. Racing seat suck for long interstate travel and B. Loosing the rear seat is not a option if you have kids or you use the stang for an actual vehicle to travel in.

my cobra diver seat is 60lbs~ the passenger side is like 35~ the rear seat is 50~ all together (top and bottom) maybe a tad more. The spare tire/jack are around 35lbs.
