Hey there, I just bought some 17x9 chrome svt cobra rims. I have a 3.8L mustang. I went with the Kelly brand EvoZ tires and they seem pretty badass, as they are made by goodyear and are practically identical to the F1G3's.... a 290 dollar tire. I went 275/40/zr17 and seem great. They are on all 4 wheels, so that I can rotate them.

dont forget to take the sticker off, what are you gonna be doing with your old stock rims and tires????? nice rims also.... gotta get your windows tinted, if they are, go darker if you are able to

tread is backwards because im waiting on 2 more tires to come in. Haha I knew that! It was just for a picture and so forth. Fedex misplaced 2 tires so they are coming in later, I wanted to put them on to see how they fit with the wheel well.

Hey brandon, he is saying that his tires stick out past his wheel well about a 1/4 inch. Do your tires stick out on your 6? I am thinking maybe the back spacing is different or that the tires might be a different size 275 than standard (kind of like nitto 315s aren't really 315's)

they stick out, its the way of the world. They have to or they would rub, this allows ford to run 275 and 9 inch wide rims all around.

the tire size really wont mess with it, sure some tires are different than others and there is no set measure (sadly a mm is not a mm depending on where the measurment is taken from... cheap manuf. and all)

mine are the same way on both my cars (01 with oem cobra rims and 03 with afs cobra wheels and both with 275 tires that are the same width~)

Ok, so your 01 V6 has OEM 03 cobra rims...and your 03 cobra has knock off replica 03 cobra rims??? Did I read that correctly? Does anyone else see the weirdness in that? lol

blah..... the chrome rims are better looking and are identical in all purposes.... lol but I see your point.

The oem 03 cobras had a couple places on them and weights on the outside so I didnt want to use them.

the goal is to run a tire that protects the rim lip, if you run a 245 on a 9 inch wide rim the lip will be exposed and get curbed and TA DA you have a ruined rim...

a 275 will nearly always protect it from curb rash and thats the key. Plus it look CORRECT why do you think ford runs them... its not cuz they like blowing extra money on wider tires, thats for sure...

anyone that tells me a 275/40/17 does not belong on a 17 inch by 9 rim obviously does NOT know very much about cars (there are circumstances where narrower tires are used but very very rarly)
