mine would be like 20 mins for the 1/8... cause i'd have to push it with no tranny in it... but even if i had one that lil 2.8 would probably get me there slower than me pushing lol

Man, it wears me out to push a shopping cart! But, I'm trying to do more of it. In April, when the picture on my website was taken, I was one Big Mac away from 300 pounds. Last week I weighed 240. So, pushing anything around would probably help me.

87LX,
Is your car a coupe or hatch. Sounds like it's going to be fun...which ever it is!

1987 Lx coupe, 5.0, 5 speed. Not sure on the milage, I'm geussing 165,000 since the odometer hasn't worked in 5 years. Only mods on car: Flowmasters, short throw, Ram Air, Bald tires on ponies. No a/c, nothing behind dash (who needs all that useless crap??) changed to roll down windows, new black interior, (want the porno red back now), Car is in the process of being ripped apart now. Hopefully it will be done before I am too old to do it.

I just recently bought a really well kept up 78 coupe with the 302 engine in it onll has 77,600 orig miles on it I bought it off a 62 year old lady. although I have a very odd curiosity question and that is why the spedometer only goes to 80 mph. the vin shows it is orig a v8 engine so it has me stumped. does any know where to find where the spedometer listings are like I was figuring a 4 cyl should have a 80 mph. I am a stumped puppy.

Turtlestang,
Blame your 80 mph speedo on in my opinion, America's most lame ass president ever...Jimmy Carter. He brought us gas lines, even and odd days to buy gas, and 20+ % home loans.
So, what has that to do with an 80 mph speedometer?
The National Maximum Speed Law (in the United States) was a provision of the 1974 Emergency Highway Energy Conservation Act[1] that capped all speed limits at 55 mph (90 km/h). This cap was intended to conserve gasoline in response to the 1973 oil crisis. This law was modified in the late 1980s to allow 65 mph (105 km/h) limits. In 1995 it was repealed, returning the power of setting speed limits to the states.
During those years speedometers came with 80 or 85 mph limit with a big red line through 55. I guess some genius in Washington thought that if you couldn't see big numbers on your speedo you wouldn't try to attain them! You can imagine about how effective that was.
When the 79 Mustang came out, it wasn't long before savvy marketers were dong big business selling 140 mph conversions.
I may be wrong on some of the details (I frequently am) but I think this is basically why your car has that 80 mph speedo.
Jim

upr subframe connectors
upr blue thunder shifter
4.10 motorsport gears
t56 cobra 6 speed tranny with the brass slider upgrade(shifts like butter)
steeda quadrant/firewall adjuster
aluminum driveshaft
