got the rims ordered---tires---tires--tires

I am posting this trying to get as many opinions as possible, I am putting magnum 500's on my bone stock 73 mach-1---15 x 7 " on the front with around 4 " backspacing---15 x 8 on the rear with 4.5 backspacing---I am wondering if anyone runs or has seen 245-60 on front and 275-60 on the rear of a 71-3 and how they looked----I see this is mainly a newer mustangs forum but I thought I would ask----thanks for any input!

a 245 will bulge a bit on the 7 wide, but you may want that, and a 275 will do the same on the back. A 275 is the limit though on an 8 wide. If I was you I would consider a 265 for the back (depending on how the math works out) and a 235 for the front (also depending on how the math works out) and remember every tire brand is different... you would assum ea 275 is a 275 but it is not.... yokahomas for instance are much wider than nittos.

might try 225/60 on the front----the back rims are 8 inch with 4 1/2 in backspace---275/50/15----I thought they would work-----you think they will be bulgy huh??

well not super super bad but it will have bulge. Do the math vs stock tire specs and see how close it is. you may mant more sidewall / less so keep that in mind as well. As you alter the height you will alter the speedo as well though.

i doubt a 275 would fit right with with only 4.5" backspacing, I doubt the wheel wells are alot bigger then those on foxes since they didnt come with real wide tires and wheels from ford. I know for the foxes to run a 275 on a 15x8 u need atleast 5.5" backspacing.
