900 for a rebuild kit? That's lame. It's just as lame for my 2.3L at 700 bucks. Yet, on summit a rebuild kit for a 460 is only 350, 500 if you want it forged.
Unfortunately, I checked and summit doesn't have a kit for ford v6s T all. That's even more lame.
I'm sure you could piece together a kit for less than the 900 on that site.

That's what I figured, you could piece stuff together for that price, but I wasn't sure how lazy he wanted to be, lol.

if i was in your situation which i have been many times lol, i would just buy another engine i looked on car-parts.com in goergia for you and found a motor out of an 04 with 17,121 miles on it for 650 bucks and theres others with low miles for around the same this specific one has a 6 month warranty. now with your old engine just strip it down and rebuild it up little by little the way you want to like a race engine port and polish and shave the heads forge the rotating assy build it to hold a decsent amount of boost or a 4.2 stroker theres alot you could do its up to you and what you want this is what i have done a couple times just my 2 cents the site is car-parts.com

im different every motor ive ever bought from a salvage yard has been tested before it went in the car which should be done any way i do a comp/vac test for head and intake gasket problems and check around the heads valve covers and oil pan for leaks if it checks out in it goes i was always told if it isnt broke dont fix it save the money now i could see if it had high mileage then no matter how good the motor checked out i would change gaskets to be safe but ive always bought engines that had less than 60000 miles and im proud to say that every car ive swapped the engine in i still see being drove around town and yes the town is small lol

anyone have a good deal on a 3.9? i DO NOT WANT a 3.8, i know samething blah blah i just dont want one lol! what if i drop a 4.2 put a f150 in there lol? or what a min, 3.9 & 4.2 is the same block right just different crankshaft and pistons? so it would be cheaper to buy a 4.2 block w/ pistons than to take my 3.9 block and bore it out and find new pistons right? i have a feeling my bottom end is the problem so why not just snatch a 4.2 block w/ crank and pistons out of a 97 f150 and put my heads and up on top of it and roll? i know not that simple but would that work? its been along day please forgive me lol

3.8/3.9/4.2 are all the same block, so if you find a shortblock and put your top end on it it will work.
