Saw this on another site..your thoughts on history repeating itself ?
1999/2005: New body styling
2000/2006. No change
2001/2007. Intro of Bullitt / GT/CS. Non functional hood scoops introduced on both.
2003-2004/2008: Mach 1 comes out to maintain interest in current Mustang, prior to new body style. 2008 is also looking good for a Mach and/or Boss right before a new body style in 2009.

Meh, it's too late for anything new in the 2007 model year besides the Cobra.

I'd hope that history would repeat itself and bring back a truely retro Muscle car that is up to the Standards of safety and look somewhat almost just like the old 60's model 'stangs

I agree. I like the 69 & 70 Mustang body style. Ford should bring back the 69 & 70 fastback body style again in 2009.

I own an 2005 V6 and I really can't see much of anything looking alike... the 2005 has more curves than the older 69-70 models. I also own a 1968 Mustang, I would love to see the old body just dropped onto a new chasis with the suspension air bags and all that good stuff. It would just be sick to see the older car with nice additions like bucket seats, and leather, MORE HORSEPOWER! I mean I would like to see the 09 stang smoke a set of bfg's right off the lot. Ofcourse my insurance would go up by so much if i was to get one. I'm glad someone agrees with me wanting to see a more retro mustang running the streets! like the 69-70 Fastbacks.

you would be amazed, my insurance only went up a little bit and I also droped the deductable to 250 as well.
The 2005+ look good but.. they are kinda blah to me, I hope they get some nice changes soon.

Well the way the motors are built now there wasn't a point for the hood scoop on the 35th Aniv. all they really do now is restrict air movement. I would think with aerodynamics they would have left it off to keep from air trying to move witin it and it not going. if i was going to have a hood scoop on my mustang it would have to be for a reason like forced air induction with the RAM AIR induction system therefore good reason for hood scoop.

Seen those a while back. They're friggin smokin hot and what the 2005+ Stangs should've been in the first place.... more of a fastback design, and no long, flat, boring body lines because of the addition of the classic "hips". If I had the cash, I wouldn't think twice about getting one done.
Is there a website for more info on those? All I've seen is a few pics

First off... There's no need to post this in every thread related to the 2010 Mustang.
Second, paragraphs are your friend.
Now that the small stuff is out of the way, let's get down to business. If you want a family car, don't buy a Mustang. If you want an economy car, don't buy a Mustang. That's what the Fusion is there for. What you are asking for is an overweight, boring, underpowered Mustang. That is the last thing Ford needs to do.
The Mustang is not intended to be any of the things you are asking for, and I pray that it won't be. It's already heavy, boring and underpowered enough as it is.

I have one thing to say. The 2001 (and a half technically) Bullitt was not the first mustang to be introduced with the non functional hood scoop. The 2001 Mustang GT was, which was released before the Bullitt. Please don't put that on us .

The '99 - '00 models didn't have the hood "scoop" per say. Although, they did have that little fake "vent" looking deal. Don't know what exactly you'd call that.

The 83 Stangs with reverse hood scoop weren't functional from the factory either

Can someone identify where the attached pictures are from. At least one would suggest that such a car may have been built.

The 99 had an option of a 35th anniv hood scoop as part of the 35th anniv package.
