Well H60 reminded me that I promised everyone I would get some new clips now that my Magnaflow Tru-X is installed. Here they are, I think its an improvement over my last clip and I did various clips outside and inside.

However, Im not 100% satisfied; I think I may have to get two MRT mufflers.hmmmmm. I need professional help I think!

http://www.rygen.net/stang/xpipe.html

There should be a total of 7 new clips there.

Later!

Did you go dual all the way? did you feel an increase in power or just sound level. It sounds sweet on the inside but like a 6 on the take off and drive by.

Thanks!! Yea, its a 6 so it will always sound like a six. I got an x pipe so its not true duals.

Who told you that??? I will repeat this is a great myth fabricated by people who do not understand exhaust science. When you have a X, H or any other type of crossover pipe on a dual exhaust you still have dual exhaust.

The real need for a X or H on a V6 is up for debate. The need for X, H or Crossover tubes is well documented on V8's.

So no matter what Mechanic, Teacher, Priest, Pastor, Relative, Friend or Friend of a Friend said THEY ARE WRONG!!!!:

The purpose of an X or H pipe is to equalize exhaust gasses (pressure) from both banks of a V style engine weather its a 4, 6 or 8 makes no difference, its still dual. My only thought is that without major CFM's going in, the need for duals on a V6 is not really benificial to creating power and lack of back pressure creates a loss in both torque and HP. With the large diameter pipes on the 4.0 from the factory the engine has no problem exhausting what it intakes. Add a supercharger or if they come out with an exotic intake for the V6 (I doubt it) that would be a different story. Also the head pipes from the factory are designed pretty well for this engine and headers add little to the HP until you start with heavy Mods to internal breathing so except for some weight loss and looks they are not worth the investment unless you are going for broke.

Most of this is a truism but the actual loss of torque or Hp is very minimal at the very least especially if using chambered mufflers like Flowmaster or MAC flowpath.
