I plan to sell my gt rearend locally, and buy a new gt. I have a 8.8 with a bearing, sealant, gasket, kit and basically everything for the rear... my question is, what is the rearend worth? and if i plan to paint the rear before i sell it, what spots should i avoid with paint- obviously rotors and calipers, but should i mess with the connecter to the driveshaft?
a used 8.8 with stock gears is usually around 400~ depending on condition/miles.
Dont paint the pinion area where the drive shaft meets, tape it up good. I would scuff up the rear end good and clean off any surface rust and all that then coat it good with rustoleum. I wouldnt paint the diff cover, leave it silver (metal)

today i layed the rear end with duplicolor spray rust protection after doing some sanding.. when the spray dries it turns to black primer... i acutally like the result, however i might add some black duplicolor paint i have from my calipers later. Do you think 400 is the most the rear is worth? only 25k miles. but the rotors are rusted... the gears look great

well i have a motive complete bearing kit with the rear. It has all gaskets, seals, bearings, shims, bolts, and everything. I paid over 100$ for the rebuild kit... so for the rear and rebuild kit i would take 550$ even though ive already had a few offers... it goes to who ever gets it first.
I have gt shocks that arent pictured.
