Ok so I want to make some room in my engine compartment and was wondering if there's a smaller pulley out there that I could use in place of the big ps pulley.
The only time i really want power steering is when I'm parking the car. Other then that I like to feel the car turning better and don't mind having to put some effort into it.
So instead of just deleting the pulley is there a smaller one I could use and how would that affect my other accesories?
I don't know if there's any long term affects I'd have to worry about.
thanks.

I smaller pulley would spin the power steering pump faster. This would increase heat in the pump, rob horsepower, and lead to faster pump failure. Eliminating power steering entirely would probably make the car a real pain to drive...

what are you making room for... people have fit twin turbo systems in there and they didnt need a smaller PS pump pulley.

I'm paranoid about the belts heating up. I'm wanting to put the turbo where the stock battery location is and run the dump pipe down the drivers side.
I've seen one other guy do that but I would feel more comfortable about it if I had some more clearance for the dp and headers.
I'm still planning everything out but so far I like the set up i described the best.

I was surprised at how easy it was to get Tony to delete PS and AC.
In fact, the AC was his idea and he does not mind the higher steering
effort (he's driven my manual steering Tracer) so we're going
hardcore racer mods for most of this combo.
