Baby Shower

Ok, i need some help figuring out how much I should charge for a baby shower cake that I am making. It will be 12"W x 18"L x 2"H. The theme for it is Noahs Ark which i am having trouble finding the exact things to base it off of, but anyways the reason I am having trouble thinking of a cost is because I am making it for people that I use to work with. What do you all think?

I'd base it off your time. Figure out how much you're worth an hour, and go from there.

Good point, but just by looking at what other places charge, like this one place for the size of cake that I am doing would charge $140, and I honestly think thats over priced

yeah that sounds alittle expensive.. this is how id do it but its a bit complicated.

how much did the materials to make it cost you? id start with that and then add some labor costs of minimum wage per hour and then find the average between that and $140 cake at the store.

That sounds like about a 1/4 sheet...or half sheet cake tops...around here, half sheets run about 40-45 bucks...1/4s run about 25. And those prices are at a pastry shop and don't change even if you want a theme...

That $140 is a total rip...that's like paying over sticker on a GT500....

its also in california ya gotta remember, seems like everything costs more over there
