Well, I just got an email from Andy saying that he'll be done with my kit by the end of the week!!!1111!11!oneone! I'm calling it project BLWNAWA because that's what I want to get for my custom tag when it's all done.
As I'm sure ya'll can tell, I can't wait.
This is what's been going on:
I already have:
Injectors
Fuel pump
MAF Xtender
Detroit T-Lock
Gauges
Boost controller
Spark plugs
Tranny cooler
EGR delete plate
Gaskets
Turbo piping, including headers, exhaust dump piping, intercooler piping, and intake piping.
Custom emblems
This is what I have installed already:
Detroit T-Lock
Fuel pump
Gauges (not hooked up, just in their pods.)
I'm essentially waiting on the rest of the kit to install everything else. I'll also be getting a Precision Intercooler from Andy so that wil fix the IC problem.
Once everything gets here, I'm estimating about a week tops to get it all put in and hed up to Delk for the custom tune.
I've been thinking some time in the summer, I may get a stage 3 kit from Super 6 and forged internals and if I do all that, I'll probably start looking for an 8.8 also. But at the very least, I'm getting the forged rotating assembly.
WOOT!

Alrighty, I'll take pics as I go, but I don't know if I'll post any until I'm done. But I'll have plenty of them.

I was going to do this later, but I decided to go ahead and get a B&M transmission cooler since I'll be down there anyway with the intercooler, so that's been added to the list. It's got an electric fan and thermostat.
Also got a fancy EGR delete plate, it's shiny and was only $5.

I also have a question:
In an effort to controll the heat in the engine compartment, I've been thinking about removing the heat shield on the underside of the hood...but I've heard that this can cause discoloration of the paint on the outside of the hood...is this true? I don't really care about the underside, I just don't want it messing up the outside...

ive not had the underside hood blanket on my old black car, and I do not have it on my red one. Its not hurt anything, I wouldnt worry about it.
you best add a transmission to your mod list as well.

I thought that thing was meant to soak up the heat and transfer it to the hood, and in turn the hood cools off from the ambient air.
Keeping temps down under the hood is an interesting battle. At some point some part of the engine bay will have to soak up heat and transfer it out. everything you do has a domino affect on the rest of the car.

I believe it's purpose is to fall on a underhood fire in order to smother it...

bingo^^ thats what it does as well as being your AM reciver You can wrap the turbo exhaust lines with some stuff that will keep it cool at the price of it looking odd.

another tip do NOT rush the build, take more time than needed to dot every I and cross every T, much better than rushing though it and then it blowing up 2 days later~ so take your time and enjoy it, also take tons of images adn what nots, we could make a VERY nice how to if you would be willing to take the time on all of the projects, and plus it will help you think about what you are doing as you are doing it.
Take more images than needed and we can then write it up.

Huh?
Don't worry, I'll be taking plenty of time and pictures. I've got so much to do, I need to make a chronological list of what all I need to do. Most of it won't take long to do, it's just a lot of stuff.
