1999-2004 Transmission type

I wanted to know if what type of transmission is used for the 199-2004 mustang v6 with 5spd and does the 2004 mustang v6 with the 3.9l use the same one

There is no difference between the 3.8 and 3.9 besides minor parts put in from the windstar 3.8. They changed 5 speed models somewhere in the 99-04 model years, but I don't remember when.

95-05 v6s all use the T-5 transmission, the only difference was in 99 they used digital speedo read out, not a gear, the transmissions are interchangable.

The autos are the same as well from 99 up

So all v6's 94-2004 come with the t-5

yup, the 94-98 have a speedo gear to tell the computer how fast the car is going and the 99-04 have a digital read out/magnet to do the job, only real difference~

i was reading a previous article that stated you could use a 98 transmission in a 99 mustang v6 auto and that all you have to do is change the tail shafts between the two and that it will then hook back up and work with the 99 digital speedo and computer is this correct or is there any thing else that i should be made aware of thanks for any help..steve
