Hey guys I new so this question has probably been asked many times before, but I have a twin turbo set up off a 300z and can't decide whether to use it or buy and ATI kit for my car. I love the sound of turbos but no tapping my oil pan sounds really nice too. I have a 2004 3.9L with 17K on it and it's now my daily driver again. So what do you guys think would be a better route, I think I'm leaning to the ATI.

i have the ati procharger kit and im running a 5psi pulley which actually gives me 7 psi at redline, i did that low of psi because at the time i didnt have enough for injectors and such but i will be upgrading later, i like it and have not problems with it. with crappy street tires i run a 14.2- 14.5 quarter mile at between 95-100 mph. i wanted to do turbos too but i didnt have the money or fabrication ability to do that. but i am happy with the kit. only thing is the oil you have to get from procharger is a bit pricey and you have to change it every 6000 miles. not too big a deal though. where as turbos get oil change with the vehicle oil change. i also had mine dynoed and i got 245 hp 260 tq to the wheels, which i didnt think was bad at 5 psi with no other upgrades

turbo setups at the present time are just getting going for the v6 community and are costly and uncharted territory for most people, there are a few who have ton amazing things with them so I would look them up and get some first hand experience into the issues and cost its going to run, and what to do and what not to do.
Members such as White95v6 for instance has the fastest v6 I believe todate, single turbo.

I thought turbos weren't as each to tune as a supercharged set up... and he's talking about a daily driver..

I have no idea what the specs are on the turbo set up your talking about. Turbos have a more even power distribution throughout the rpm range. You have to get up there to see full boost from an SC. It's not any harder to tune a SC than it is a TC and both can be daily drivers. The install is more involved with a turbo, but that's about it.

there is less information around for turbos so going that way you will have to research harder for the answers you want and what not.
I dunno.... my SC gives me full boost on tap... max tq at 3k rpms and super flat till redline is a beautiful thing.

Well, yes but that is because it is teh beast!
Contrary to popular belief, the SRT-4 was not the car by Chuck Norris, it was the `03-`04 Cobra's. Anything made lovingly by the hand of Chuck Norris will be better.

I didn't say a turbo couldn't be a daily driver... I had just heard the tunes on them were more "touchy". But maybe I'm thinking installs... since a SC can be added with an Intercooler in a day.

Install is going to rough I know since I'll have to make most of it, but I worry about the down the road since I'm still gonna run nitrous. Price wise isn't that bad cause I'm gonna go with the tuner kit if I buy a sc. The kit I'm debating on is 11psi.

if you run n20 and a blower... you best have money in the bank for a new motor. I personally would decide to build the motor and then turob/SC it and drop it in, just do the easy bolt on stuff, or buy another car~

Well I have the motor built for nitrous and induction minus cam. I will need a more aggressive profile to run both. The only thing in my motor that is stock is the block, or at least close to stock. I have built v8s but want to go a different route. I want a 500 to 600 hp v6, just to say I did it. I know it's crazy but it's well off the beaten path in Alabama.

there is a 700rwhp turboed mustang that comes to alabama quite often actually fastest v6 seen that I know of lol
you sould talk with him about the do's and dont's best learn from someone elses mistakes rather than your own
I would build that motor you WILL HAVE TO in order to hold that power, the stock motor wont hold it regardless of the tune if you want 500-600rwhp~
You could get away with 350rwhp~ maybe with a really good tune but no more or you will be asking for it.

you could buy brents car, its build to handle some power and stroked to, heck the WHOLE is for sale for cheaper than a motor build would cost you, it is a single port BUT with a turbo it will work amazingly, thats what white95v6 has and he does 10.3s~ in the quarter.

twin turbo gets my vote. the hardest part about making your own turbo set up is planning it out and deciding how much your parts can handle.
sure if you only research what's on the surface then it won't seem hard but every angle and placement of piping and wg and BOV is critical for making efficient power. there's a way that works and then there's the right way. After all that is figured out, the welding part seems like a piece of cake.
I think tt is the best route for you to reach your desired hp goal.

First I'm from Hazel Green and second I know money isn't a real big deal but 8 turbos is a bit much for my pocket , but if I could I would just to say I did it. It would deff. be more of a shock value thing.
