I had my car dynoed the other day for free through my school. Unfortunatly I couldn't go but my friend took my car. The numbers I got are ridiculous in my mind. Anyone have any thoughts on what's up? BTW it's a 2002 auto V6 running a SCT 93 octane tune.

I'm no expert, but I'd say that sounds about right. At 15% drivetrain loss that comes out to 141.2 at the flywheel.

Yeah, I guess it does sound a bit low. Get a tune-up. Maybe replace the cats. Sounds like something may be awry.

WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY TO LOW!!!!!
when i just had an intake, exhaust, and pulley i put down 183/224 (176/216 SAE)..........BEFORE A TUNE. now figure ~12 for the tune, that puts me at ~190rwhp/230rwtq.........however, after the tune, my best was 174rwhp/205rwtq SAE..........but that was in a 105* shop with 30% humidity........on the pre tuned pull it was about 65* and 15% humidity

I Know! I can't figure out if something is wrong or if they screwed something up when dynoing it. My car feel like it always has so I think they did something wrong

OK here is the real world slapping you in the face. Reality can suck but you should be closer to 150 at the very least. SCT tuned for premium usually nets 10 Hp but that is not a given and many things could also be happening. Poor quality gasoline. You need a tune-up, faulty oxygen sensor, clogged cats but that is less likely because of the age of the car or a dirty MAF sensor.
Here is the thing. As a veteran of many dyno pulls you need to change plugs each time before you go. I change them actually just before I get on the dyno. One bad or irregular plug can cause you to loose anywhere from 8 to 25 HP. If you have a couple of bad or irregular plugs it could mean a huge loss in HP

Possibly!!! Dyno's do need Calibrating, Something that I dont think was asked is What type of dyno was it was. Typically Mustang (MD) dyno's will show up to 10% lower numbers than a Dynojet dyno.

Thanks Corey, thats what I was looking for. I'll have to check my plugs etc. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular on the dyno I just thought the 120 was a little on the low side. Everyone else at the dyno seemed to get resonable numbers I just figured something could have gone wrong. I've been to the track and ran about 16 flat so I figured that 120 HP at the wheel could get me there that fast. Hopefully i'll find the problem if there is one and wait another 6 months to a year and have the school pay for it again.

A properly calibrated Mustang Dyno is very accurate like the one @ Delk Performance.
Also putting an auto on the dyno is different from a 5 spd.
You need it in 3rd gear and not downshift when you hit it.

That is somewhat true. What some dyno guys do is let you go through the gears and once you hit around 60-70 the car will not downshift and then you hit the throttle. The other way is to start in 3rd. When Jerry tuned my car at Team Ford he did it the first way I mentioned
The Mustang Dyno as Kirk mentioned is probably the most accurate dyno out there.

Jerry sets the EEC to shift to third early, locks the TC & locks out any down shifts.
I have a tune just like that for the dyno
