It's really simple. The reputation system is setup so that you can give people good and bad reputation for their posts on this site.
If someone helps you out on the forums in the tech area you can click the "Rate this post" link in the upper right of the post to give them positive feedback. This will increase their reputation shown (the little green blocks underneath your post count/location information). This helps show who the real contributors of the forums are. Even if you just agree with the post and like it that is grounds for giving good reputation to the user!
On the other hand you can leave negative feedback as well for posts that you feel are not helpful, wrong, or just plain dumb. This has a negative impact on the user and with enough negatives will make their green blocks red.
Please be aware that any reputation that you leave for others can be seen by Admins and anyone abusing it will be warned and have their ability to give reputation taken away.
If you have any questions let me know and I will answer them here.
You can check your reputation by simply opening your control panel http://www.mustangevolution.com/forum/control-panel/ If you have given or recieved reputation it will show up. If you have done neither it will be white space. |
