yep, I wouldn't waste my time with shortie headers. either go longtubes or don't bother with them.
And there are lots of cam companies out there but I would see about getting a custom grind for what you plan to do with your car

ive heard issues with all the top cam makers im sure its mainly the spec on the cams not the cam themselves. I would do a good bit of research into what works and what does not. I would go long tubes or nothing at all as well.

What kind of form do you mean?
I've been doin my homework, and looks like a lot of Mach 1 guys are goin the mid-length header route. Any of you heard of these. And how will the fitment of long tubes vs short tubes work with my x pipe? Sorry if I forgot to mention that before. But the car already has a bbk x pipe and magnaflow catback on it.

my buddy cammed his otherwise full-bolt-on '04 GT and gained a half a MPH and lost gobs of bottom end..
he swears he'll gain 20 HP with a proper tune though

I like Comp's new grinds, but mostly for power adder
setups. The LCA's area bit wide for NA use, but it makes it "easier"
for the "tooners" to get an easy "toon" but a real tuner can make the
narrow LCA's work quite well. The new lobes have such quick ramps that
overlap is reduced over the old stuff. If I had stock specs I could cook up
a much hotter cam that sacrificed NO low end and had better all-around
torque and HP from idle to redline. Know of any places that list stock specs?

www.mach1registry.com, they have a really detailed spec page. It has pretty much everything you would need to know.
So based on this questionaire, what happens when I do other mods to the car? Will the cams need to be changed? And no offense but can you tell me about the quality and everything that goes along with these cams. And whats somethin like this gonna cost?

I found this for the FRPP cams specs:
Cam specs: lift .480, intake duration 258°, exhaust duration 254°, 109° center line. Those duration numbers are advertised; at .050 duration is down around 214/204. Great for Mach stock intake - any more could do more harm than good performance wise.
I'd like to see stock cam timing specs, it's not listed on the site spec sheet,
I found this on the BBS. Are you considering boost?
Cost, depends on where you buy it, I can probably sweet talk Comp into
giving you a 10% discount, you'd be buying direct with my specs. Comp
has better lift, I think they go to .500" on 4V camming but you need their
springs and retainers. The FRPP stuff was listed at $1100 on that forum,
but the guy had to buy Comp retainers/springs to fit his current heads
which he did not pull to change the cams.

I'm not all that fluent in cam specs, but from what i have heard I think a .500 lift is near what I'm lookin for. How radical of a cam is that exactly? I want that heavy cam sound, but this is also a daily driver so i'm lookin for the middle ground.

This is not a radical cam. Pretty mild on advertised durations. the "heavy cam sound"
is "lope" to most people and lope can be tuned out with fuel adjustments in most cases.
This is highly recommended, as it reduces emissions and increases driveability.
The key here is to use a proven grind as a base, comparing the advertised specs of it
to newer lobes preferably from COMP and get a higher .050" duration. This will ensure that
the low end torque curve is maintained and the top end enhanced. The FRPP
cams are a great start, it seems they ight not even need a tune to run well
and will do even better with with a tune. I could probably find you a set of
lobe specs that fit the advertised durations very closeley, and get your .050"
durations up around 220-224* intake and even more exhaust. I'd only add
exhaust bias (@ .050) if you were running an SC or wanted a juice cam (NOS).
If you can afford it, it's a great time to port the heads and intakes.
Self-porting is really easy, on 4V heads I'd suggest nothing more than casting
flash removal and sanding roll polishing. Also smooth out any sharp machined
edges in the bowls. I would not even use carbides. Unless there is a big pile
of chunks of aluminum that clearly does not belong.
DO NOT REWORK THE BASIC CASTING SHAPES!!!
The 4V heads already flow alot for a 4.6L engine, the mods listed above will
help smooth the flow out and help torque and HP, the cams will help HP alot,
and you will have a smooth and streetable setup with very minimal port work.
It's called a clean-up porting job. Anyone can do it, the key is not to overdo it.
What I'd really like is stock cam specs, then I could spec off that and get you
a cam that was REALLY torquey and makes great HP. You really want lift over
duration w/4V heads, this thing already has a great RPM range in stock form.
But we'll work with what we can find.

I emailed you the form, you can post it here or email it back
Emissions legal is easy, and the E303 is by no means the most cam you can use
and still pass. Be sure to list your head style, and porting level. I like higher CR's
for these builds too, so get them milled if you can!

aight emailed you back with it, im just going for cheap/proven parts..no it wont be the fastest but thats what next years tax return is for
most likely going with a set of gt40/gt40p heads, I have one of those typhoon U/L intakes in the mail,(edelbrock basically..but for 300 shipped its worth a shot to take a look at, if not ill send it back and get a 93cobra/tubular gt40 intake) and cam is up in the air. I know I can still use a bigger cam but the emissions places around here are dicks, a friend has a e303 in his car and they made him pop the hood (H/C/I,boltons, etc) and failed him because he didnt have the stock air filter haha

Good, at least we're not using stock heads :/
What are the future plans? I can get you a cam that works with
other future items and works great now for NA... if you give me details.
