I was thinking pretty much the same. Think I'm going to go for the tubular bolt-ins, then bolt them on and drive it to my buddy with the shop (to weld).
I'd think the round tube would be better than square tube.
Anyone?
Throw your ideas at me. I'd like to do it as cheaply as possible, but i don't want crap. What would you do?

I put the steeda midlength monochromy's on my car. Costs a little more, but they sure work, I'll tell ya that. I drove the car for about a week with subframes and stock suspension and that made a big difference. The other real noticable upgrade was a rear swaybar.

Personally, I'd check out Maximum Motorsports. Although, I'll go ahead and tell you that cheap is one thing that they definitely are not. However, they are the best in any other category you could come up with. If you can afford to cough up the extra cash it's definitely worth it.
They are really the only place that comes to me off the top of the head that makes a quality set (I guess just because that's the only place I'd buy them myself so I never really looked elsewhere). You may wanna try Steeda. Also, I'm sure LRS (5.0 Resto) will probably have them at a decent price. I've always enjoyed doing business with them as well.
Just don't expect to find them quite that dirt cheap anywhere other than Ebay.

go with full length weld in or dont do anything, bolt in BLOW. I have bolt in they suck butt. 120 bucks~ for MM's full length and they come setup to be able to fit to the frame, which is not very tight on tolerances....

I think I'm just going to hold off a little longer and get the Maximum Motorsports ST brace, K brace and Full length Subs at the same time. No point in half-assing it.

These are the words of a very wise man.
A lot of people learn the hard way that if you aren't going to do something right, then you really shouldn't do it all. This seems to be even more true when it comes to modifying cars.
And you absolutely can't go wrong with Maximum Motorsports.

Yah. I think I've heard the ,"why do that, it's just a six" BS for a bit too long. $300 isn't bad in parts for what it'll get me. The wife's gonna shit at the final cost, but she'll get over it. Hell, by the time she drives it again, it'll be on rails. She hasn't driven it since it's been lowered.

You have the most desirable series of the V6 yet, it's so easy to make that
a 4.2 and smoke unsuspecting V8's
I really rag on people that say "why mod the V6?" I tell them about some of
my past accomplishments.
Most streetable SPI 3.8's are lucky, they can just change the cam and port
the intakes, and have well over 200 RWHP with a tune. I did a head/intake
combo for a guy here and suggested he get a cam from Comp, and he's making
more RWHP than anyone prior, thru an auto! The cam is pretty out there,
but he has the rest of the combo to make it work.
Guys with BV heads and 5 speeds (similar mods) make less HP than that.
Go for it, She'll get over it!

I am going to again go against the masses here. I think MM is a great company I have there C&C plates. I had another brand and they were not even close to the strength of the MM's but a Subframe connector is a round tube or a square extrusion. MM does not make the tubing they cut it paint it and stamp there name on it. You could go to a industrial pipe company and buy the exact tubing or better and make one yourself for 1/20 the cost of MM's or anyone else's. As long as it is a strong tubing who gives a rats ass about the name on it. Find out what the wall thickness of the tubing and compare. I personally would not pay $300 for two $10 steel tubes. But it is your money. Most of the pricey companies are making 500% mark up or better on SFC's
I paid $40 for my SFC's and they are made of the same diameter and thickness of steel as MM's Do you think MM's has the patent on some sort of Magic pipe worth $300????? I think not!!!

MM's subframes are 140 for powdercoated i do believe or around that. They are able to be adjusted to fit as well, which makes it much easier since the ford frame has a rather wide tolderance....
