Ok, 2nd visit to the track and I am quite pleased with the results!!!! I think I have made considerable improvement. Let me know what you guys think.
So here are my results:
NA
1ST Run
R/T: 1.136
60: 2.196
330: 6.254
1/8: 9.665
MPH: 71.93
100 SHOT NITROUS
1st Run
R/T: .670
60: 2.456
330: 6.728
1/8: 9.979
MPH: 75.11
A note on this run, it was my first time on a juiced run and I launched hard. The car actually fishtailed a bit and started for the wall so I had to let off the gas. Scared me actually, was about to switch back to NA runs but I pushed myself to get back out there with the juice.
2nd Run
R/T: .685
60: 2.212
330: 6.050
1/8: 9.251
MPH: 76.27
3rd Run
R/T: .684
60: 2.138
330: 5.940
1/8: 9.148
MPH: 75.30
4th Run
R/T: .618
60: 2.143
330: 5.920
1/8: 9.100
MPH: 76.34
On this run, I ran against a juiced Nissan 240, he was actually pulling on me but I could tell when the juice ran out for him because he couldnt catch me. He was frustrated after the run and his friends were like, what happened man, we thought you were gonna catch that guy! LOL.
So now for the final run, which was my best:
Best Run
R/T: 1.166
60: 2.056
330: 5.802
1/8: 8.981
MPH: 76.53
Yea baby!!!! Broke into the 8s with my six banger stang!!!!!! Today was a new experience for me, import guys and V8 mustang guys were checking out the car in the staging lanes. After I ripped off the 9.100, they were impressed. A 3.8 guy hung out with me and was asking me what I did to pull that off. The 03/04 GT guys were way cool to me, and impressed with my time. Most of them were running 9.4s.
So what did I take away from today?
1. Launching with nitrous is way different, its like learning how to launch all over again. I know I can do better on my launch.
2. I need new tires Damnit!!!!!! These pneros suck!!! LOL.
Like last weekend I am hooked, and cant wait to go again. Scanned time slips to follow!

There is two near me, but sunday was the only day I was available and Mason Dixon raceway is only open for TNT till noon. I wasn't going to get out by noon today, so I went to the 1/8th track.
I plan to go to the 1/4 track next week!

That's freakin' awesome! If I remember my conversion tables, that would translate out to around 13.95 - 13.98 for the full 1/4 mile. Not too bad for a "6", not too bad at all!

Nice times man! Plus, the car looks great.
I'm looking forward to hearing what it'll do in the 1/4.

Am I missing something ? reaction times seem a little slow or are things different on a 1/8 mile track? times, 60' and mph are great. Car looks awsome, that photo would make a nice sig.

Remember, reaction times have absolutely no bearing on the elapsed time. The clock doesn't start ticking until the wheels move and trip the sensor. You may already know this, I'm just making sure.
Anyway, now all the "big" tracks have gone to .000 being a perfect light, if I'm not mistaken due to a change in the way the NHRA decided they wanted to do things. A lot of the "smaller" tracks (like the one near here in Lawrenceburg) still use the old .500 for a perfect time. In this case, some of his R/Ts are too awfully shabby (a lot better than I do). Also (and I could be wrong on this one too), it depends on whether you are running on a Pro tree or a Sportsman tree. I believe the old Pro trees used .400 for a perfect time instead of the .500 for the Sportsman.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on all this. The only track I've ever run at just used the basic .500 Sportsman tree (and still does).
But if you're just doing test and tune, cutting a good light isn't really an issue (unless you just want to practice, which most people do).

Absolutely true if just running against a clock but running against another car and all things being equal or close, reaction time is everything, making the difference between a win or loss. I would definately try staying on the shy side of the decimal point, say .500 or below consistantly.

Yep, if you look at my runs, my reaction times are all over the place. I need more practice! Thanks for the compliments.

awesome times, that'd be awesome to have one of my two mustangs up in the 10 seconds.. but I'll stick with restoration of the classics... but good luck with getting your launching down pat, awesome car though man.. hope to hear faster times in the future!

reaction time has NO bearing on your 8th mile times or anything for that matter, FYI.

Unless you're actually racing someone, either heads-up or bracket. Then it is quite important.

are you actually launching with your nitrous spraying right off the line? If so... be prepared to break things lol

It kicks in at WOT via the NCU. The way I have been launching, it has been kicking in from a roll off the line. Not sure if that makes a difference. I also have an auto, so it absorbs the stress that would usually be on the rear end.

i dont think youd break the rear end... i was more worried about you spraying too soon in the RPM band and having puddling occur... looks like you have it under control though
