finally got out to the track with the GT.
1st run

all in all i am very pleased with its performance at the track. i was launching at 2k easing out of the hole. the 3rd run sucked so bad because i believe when i drove around the waterbox, i mustve caught some water on my pass rear, and i dont do burnouts on street tires, so i launched with water on my rear and just spun in spot which totally killed me. sadly, there were more heavily modded stangs running slower times.
whats the rule for faster than 14's? they said if youre doing 13.999 you need a helmet, and i always thought thats for 12's or faster, but 13.99+ you need a cage for convertis. they told me when i wanted to put my dial in at 13.8(luckily i didnt cause it wouldve been too low), that i dont have a helmet. i was like "hrm, thats strange, NHRA rules dont say anything about helmets in the 13's, just helmets for nitrous and under 12.999, so where are the helmets for all these corvette and LS1 guys?" he answered with "well we require it so deal with it".

i cant wait till summer (warmer track is stickier, higher launch rpms with less spin) and some 3.90's out back and a set of DD bullits(or other badass DD's out back) help in the 1/4.

helmet is no big deal.. our track requires everyone to use one
nice times for your mods..
get better traction and you'll drop 3 tenths off that time.. if not better with DRs..

yeah in a few weekends, after the car gets out of paint, i hope to go again with some better times on a saturday night full on test n tune session, which is 45$ bucks. im almost positive with some better launches its a 13.8 capible setup. my new goal is to get kicked out for running too fast without a helmet. though ill prolly borrow my buddies helmet he uses for riding his bikes, since its more than sufficient for riding and even more than sufficient for a automotive use.

were making plans to go the 8th on sat. night test n tune, unless they can get my car into the shop next week before then, then im gonna be cameraman.
the first 2 runs were more easing out of the hole than going full out. the third killed me cause i tripped on the waterbox. both mistakes i WONT be making next time.

I launched at 4k with drag radials & it just hooked. Btw, what track did you go to?

i go up to sacramento raceway.
may 13 were all planning on going again. its on a saturday from 3 till whenever, just grudge matches/test n tune, full tree, .500 light. 2 weeks ago my buddy went and said there were like 4 street cars there, and 20 big block full on track sluts there, and he made 13 passes that night, though halfway i guess the farmer next to the track opened his irrigation and flooded the track at the end, so they switched to 1/8 mile races, and he just practiced his launches the rest of the time.

Damn i will be in hawaii then. Maybe you should come down south a little to palmdale.  My car ran a 15 flat there stock & got it down to a 13.4 without the juice.

lol i bitch enough driving 1.5 hours, spending 10$ in gas, then spending 15$ to get 3 runs in, then another 10$ in gas for a hour ride back, and thats before another 10 bucks in food/drink.

just load the car up with some 5HP stickers and decals... eventually you'll be in the 500+HP range and should run some 10's....
