Just thinkin about selling my 96 white cobra, 97xxx miles, mechanic told me it has a spun rod bearing. I was planning on putting a new engine in it but have started to realize I'm not gonna have enough money to do it.
My mods:
BBK L/T headers
BBK O/R H-pipe
Flowmaster american thunder cat-back
4.10's
Spec Stage 3 clutch
underdrive pullies
K&N filter
Steeda Tri-Ax
Pioneer Premiere CD/MP3 player
all new speakers
Clear corners
clear reflectors on back bumper
tinted windows

hoping for 6000 but that might be wishful thinkin, let me know what you would pay, thats half the reason y I posted was cuz I didnt know what to price it at.

6 grand obo sounds reasonable man, spun rod bearing isnt that big of a deal, probably change it out within a few days taking your time.

Why don't you just have somebody pull the motor, turn the crank, and install new bearings? Or is it really torn up?

If all it is is a bearing it won't cost more than 1500 dollars to have someone pull the motor, turn the crank and put new bearings in.
How bad is it? Will it turn over at all or is it seized up?

So it knocks? What exactly is it doing? Are you sure its a crank bearing and not a rod bearing?

I was told it is a spun rod bearing, it makes a loud screeching/squeeling/whining type of noise on deceleration. mechanic said it is in the 3rd cylinder. this is a video of the noise, I posted about it a while ago before I took it to the mech. that is my dilemma I just dont think I have the money to get it fixed or rebuilt.

hmmm interesting. If it is a rod bearing it will cost more than its worth to have it rebuilt to stock specs.
Too hard to find a same year cobra engine in a junkyard?

I am only gonna fix it if it wont cost too much. and these engines are kinda pricey if you can find them.
