I want to do this if I decide to keep the car. If I keep it I will be gutting the interior completely and replacing it with new carpet and a new center console... basically everything new. It will be black to go with a black/black theme.
Just want to know if there is anything I should be aware before I do it or any tips.

It can be done and made to look great, in fact yours is dyed stock. You just need to get the ford paint from places such as 5.0resto.com or what not and go at it~ it looks just like stock if done right.

My interior used to be tan but now it's all black. I used some spray can stuff from Kragen to do the doors, console, hood liner and carpet.
If you go that route all I can say is to do a little at a time and let it dry for a few minutes and then do another layer.
If you stay in one spot for too long it starts to run and it doesn't look even. I used my airbrush to get to tight spots. Took me longer to mask off the interior then it did to actually paint.

lol...that's how they ended up after the crash. my stock speakers went out and at the time I didn't know how to take the whole panel off so I just cut in to it with a dremel. Never bothered to mount them properly so everything in my car shifted.

Thanks. I am not sure what I want to do. Got to get a few other things out of the way first and then I can worry about interior color.

Why not put a really cool '02 charcoal interior in it so you can have a functioning cupholder that took Ford nearly ten years to figure out that anyone with a 5spd, can't drink and shift.

Yes...they certainly put some serious thought into that. They did great with the large cup holder...but that front cup holder...great design. lol
