Yeah, not cool. It makes a really really loud clicking noise. Its not coming from the motor, its comin from the mid section of the car and sounds like im dragging some metal, but theres nothing dragging on the ground. My TOB had started chirping a while back, so I dont know if that has anything to do with it, but it still shifts fine, doesnt grind, feels really smooth, just makes noise. I get no vibrations or anything through the shifter that would indicate things being broekn inside, i just cant figure out what it might be. Ill probably have it towed tomorrow to a tranny shop and get it looked at, but anyone have any ideas?

yeah it does, but so i turned the car off, put it in neutral and just pushed the car and it did it still... Its really loud too... I can hear it over my exhaust real easily

Without listening to it I'd say it would be hard for me to diagnose.........If your not sure what it is then I'd get it looked at before it costs you more money for ignoring the issue. |

You sure its coming from the middle and not the rear end? Get a video of it or sound clip. |

your DS may be hitting something~ who knows I would take it very easy on it and get it checked before it ruines something.

I havnt driven it in a week, other than around my parking lot trying to locate where the noise was coming from. Im taking it in to the shop today to get it looked at, hope its not too bad.

it doesnt sound like it is... if it were something inside, i feel like id be able to feel it through the shifter, which isnt the case. Who knows, hopefully its not too bad. I watched it get hauled off on a flatbed about 20 minutes ago

Now that I recall,those cars were bad about the emergency brake cable hitting the driveshaft.Crawl under there and check. |

That had crossed my mind too... only thing is, I cant really get under my car. My car did have an open recall that was just fixed that had to do with the ebrake bracket, but I thought that was the bracket that was under the center consol? Either way, its gettin looked at tomorrow so Ill be sure to relay whats wrong with it.

just a FYI.. ESP. if you have an aluminum driveshaft.. sounds from bad/failed u-joints WILL travel..
That would be the most likely clicking noise
aside from that.. does the noise change if you're on the gas hard? decelerating? cruising in neutral?
