Anyone used a caliper paint kit?
Autozone has a caliper paint kit for about 17 bux, and claim it takes about 30 min total. Comes with a cleaner, the paint and say it takes 5 min to dry.

I've used a liquid caliper paint from Kragen. The kind I used took more then 5 minutes to dry. I had to paint on lot's of layers until it looked good enough for me. The brush that came in the kit was crappy... It was more like 30 minutes per wheel. But it came out better then the caliper spray paint, which i've also used.
Make sure you sand down the caliper a bit just to smooth it out and let the cleaner dry really good before applying any paint.

Caliper paint sees you coming!!! It is nothing more than HighTemp engine paint that cost less than 4 buck. But the truth is Powdercoat is far better. You just have to take the calipers somewhere to have it done.

Paint works alright but it looks no where near as good as powder coat nor is it as strong. But paint is alot more cost effective. I would rather spend 50 bucks and have it done right.

$8.00 Paint
$35.00 Powdercoated
it is all about how much you want to spend and if you want your car down for a few days waiting on the powdercoat. Unless you buy a second set of brakes!!

the paint looks fine to me....
took me a couple hours cuz I did 4 coats. I just lifted the entire car and took all of the wheels off, once that was done I basically did laps around the car painting as I went. by the time I got back to where I started each time the paint was dry.

just sand em clean em good and tape the stuff of and paint VERY slowly to get a base. If you put to much paint on them they will run so dont do that. Thats about it. DO NOT PAINT THE BRAKE PAD

I just used high heat engine paint. Spray off the calipers with brake cleaner, let dry, tape like a MOF, then spray carefully. And like Spec said, don't paint the pads, it may be a no brainer but you'd be surprised...

Hey, ive seen worse. You know brake lube? The stuff you use on the rods that go through the caliper so it clamps on track? Well my brother was halfway through his brake install and actually thought he had to "lube his rotors"
Thank god I came and checked on him because I don't think Id have a brother anymore if he had finished up before I could check...needless to say I finished the job right and made him watch and learn...

I can powdercoat them!!!! Can you do without for a few days. The picture below are mine. You will need to completely disassemble them and order 2 complete caliper rebuild kits to reassemble

Let Corey do them. I've only heard good things about the stuff he's powdercoated, and he's a cool guy to boot.
