Ok here's the dealio. If you have a 94-98 V6, you can directly swap over UDP if you use a rotating assembly from a 97-98 4.2. You still need to use the 4.2 balancer, but the pulley can still be the UD one. If you buy a later rotation assembly, you'll need to buy a late 01 UDP. You'll also need to buy a late 01 oil pan and pick-up tube, because of clearence issues. If you have 99-early 01 V6, you need to buy a 01+ UDP, you might be able to get away with using your stock oilpan/pick-up tube, but that's your call not mine. If you have a late 01-04, you can swap over everything literally since both motors are internally balanced. This should clear up some questions.
